Irish Low Flute - James McNally - Black is the color
Found this song in a file with a collection of artists on it. I've extracted it. Thanks to user comments I have found out that it is called "Black is the color" by James McNalley on his album 'Everybreath'. If you do a youtube search you'll find a few other songs by him ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=A+week+in+Denmark+%3A6&aq=f

Heavenly soulful
when you know the words of this song its more powerful
First time I heard this was at a Border’s Bookstore music area, with earphones! I was chilled and misty eyed. I had to buy the album. It’s his only solo album, I believe.
It isn’t a damned pan flute! It’s an Irish low whistle!!
I really like the style when playing those Native American songs. ..group type ahh Nee Mah. ... This group is led by the great musician David arkenstone. ..
James macnally is an excellent flautist. I really like his style playing meditative and introspective flute. ...
Its not the pan pipes its a low whistle possibly in the key of D as most Irish musicians favour. Thanks for sharing I own the cd its probably the star of the album. Its more in line with the Corrs sound than some more trad/folkier groups
Hur tänkte dom? ta bort ALLT utom flöjt och stråkar.
10+
Remember seeing James McNally play with Dingle Spike. Always knew he would go far.
I first heard this song on the album 'Celtic Christmas 3' (Windham Hill) and I was just mesmerized by it. It's just as captivating today as it was when I first heard it over 10 years ago.
Yes, it is a wonderful music, an the whole album is worth it, for Information, James McNally played also with the know Afro Celt system the label of Real World from Peter Gabriel

OOOh last but not least ..it's NOT Pan pipes!!!!! It's an Irish Low flute and believe it or not, he played with the Pogues!
Low Whistle?
Sorry to tantalise you..or anyone-else who loves this! It's from: James McNally. 'Everybreath' on BMG. As I say there's not a bad track on it and it's remained one of my favouirite CDs since the day I bought it, following a hilarious promo on BBC some years ago!.'Lonesome Boatman' is quite magically sexy too with a voice over by Devla Kirwan or a soundalike!
I've got the CD..Every track is superb!
James McNally 'Everybreath' Solo album!
I have a cd with Karan Casey singing it. Did she sing with Solas. I absolutely love this version.
For anyone looking for the artist it is James McNally (formerly of the Pogues) from the solo album/CD "Everybreath". He is also a member of Afro Celt Sound System so try any of their albums.
@Rokuns His Solo Album is Everybreath . Black is the colour is on that Album. Also anything from the Afro Celt Sound System as he is a member.
