    • @ChristinaSilverPhD
      @ChristinaSilverPhD 5 месяцев назад

      Glad it’s useful. Thanks for the feedback. You can paste transcripts into ChatGPT etc. after asking a question eg re what the themes relating to a specific topic are, or something. However, think carefully before doing that because of data confidentiality etc. you shouldn’t be doing that if you don’t have informed consent from participants.

    hello mrs. silver, i am sorry to ask you again. So, i have already visualize my data using chart feature, but one of my result shown 100% coverage, what does it mean? does that make sense? or am i do some mistake when analyzing it? i hope you can help me, thank you so much

    • @ChristinaSilverPhD
      @ChristinaSilverPhD 5 месяцев назад

      Coverage relates to the percentage of the item that is coded. So for example if you are looking at a chart that shows the codes that most code a file, coverage will tell you the percentage of that file that each code in the chart applies to. This is often not something that would be used in a final report as it is usually in a qualitative project the interpretation of what is in the data that is most important, not how much data is coded. However in some projects this would be very illuminating - eg if you were analysing political speeches and your codes represented different discursive elements of the speech, the coverage may be useful. Hope this helps

    • @ramadanadesta7388
      @ramadanadesta7388 5 месяцев назад

      @@ChristinaSilverPhD so basically, there is no right or wrong, whether the result is 100% or under 100% coverage? Coz it's just show how rich the data coded?

    I wonder if there is an option for picking up and moving a reference from within one node, to another node. That is, upon finding that a piece of reference info can be further broken-down into another node (or code), it'd be good to cut or copy that info and transfer it over to another node that is more relevant to the reference. Anyhow, thanks for the informative video!

    • @ChristinaSilverPhD
      @ChristinaSilverPhD 6 месяцев назад

      Yes that is absolutely possible. The node/code browsers are ‘live’ meaning that all tasks you might undertake from the source transcript are also possible from within a node/code. Simply select the reference you want to recode, and via drag/drop or right clicking you can assign it to another other code(s). This will not remove it from the node/code you’re in, but you can also uncode as a second action if you want to - easiest way from within the node/code is to right click on the selected reference and choose “uncode from this node”. Hope that helps and glad you find the videos useful. Thanks for the feedback

  • @ramadanadesta7388
    @ramadanadesta7388 7 месяцев назад

    Thank youuuu. But, may i ask a question? if i just want to know the number of items included in the category, can i take it from coded references? (example: negative category from news)

    • @ChristinaSilverPhD
      @ChristinaSilverPhD 7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for your message and glad you found the video useful. If by 'items' you mean number of data sources, that information is in the Files column in the list of nodes/codes. If you mean from the matrix coding query, the display can be varied to show several different counts. The default in the matrix results is to count coded references - in other words, the number of segments of data at each matrix intersection. If you want to change this you can simply right click on any cell in the table and choose Cell Content and then the option you want - which could be Files or Cases, or a number of other choices. Hope this clarifies. Good luck!

    I am just at the part where you add documents to ATLAS.ti, minute 31. If you add data for a literature / scoping review from a reference manager, don't use the Add Document option, use the Reference Manager Option from the Import / Export tab in Windows, or the equivalent option from the Document menu in the Mac version (as mentioned on the previous slide). Then all your articles are automatically named beginning with the first author and year: Batist (2019) name or article. You do not really want to rename hundreds of articles.
