Damn ,what happened to NYC .

San Antonio, barrio histórico y bonito, donde corrió la niñez y juventud de muchos y se llenaron de fortaleza. Por tus calles empedradas y casas coloniales que con sus murales hablan, se resiste a morir; esto último pasa, porque sus habitantes son vigías y se apostan como atalayas para mantener su esencia. San Antonio y Santiago de Cali se enorgullecen mútuamente, porque son uno solo..., son jardines del Cielo ancho, inspirador de sensaciones y limpio por naturaleza. Cali, Tejido de Caminos donde se confesiona la esperanza de tocar el Cielo sin estar en éste, donde los sueños se cristalizan con esfuerzo, pero con mucha fe y amor por siempre, aunque estemos lejos de Santiago de Cali, la madre que hizo gentes bonitas carismáticas y alegres como lo es ella.

I have not walked those streets in 35 years, same vibe and feel, no stores from my day except for maybe rainbow. Melancholy for me at best, many memories as a young man walking the streets, especially around Xmas time, back when you actually went out and went to stores shopping for gifts!

While I like the new trains and all the technology, I’m old-school MTA rider who relishes the memories of riding in the subway cars without air-conditioning and having to open the doors between cars to get a breeze during the summer and make sure they were closed during the winter. The sound of the train going through the tunnel. The sounds of the wheels on the rails, especially switch tracks. Great memories!
