Tough Dog Tech Tips: Steering Dampers

Once you've upgraded your 4WD's suspension, the next logical mod is a new set of wheels and offroad tyres. Tough Dog Tech Tips: Centre Bearing Kits

Why is a Centre Bearing Kit required, and what does it actually do? If your vehicle has a 2 piece tailshaft, lifting your vehicle can put it out of alignment. Ah no, this doesn't correct the panhard angle, the adjustable panhards only allows you to center the axel under the chassis at static ride height. You only make the geometry worse when the suspension cycles up and down, you get increased lateral movement (more side to side wiggle). The correct way to do it, is to use a panhard correction bracket, this is the only way to correct the panhard geometry, the panhard should be sitting flat and parallel to the axel for best results.

    Does ”normal” 0-300kg leafs mean 0-300kg more constant load than stock?

    • @toughdogsuspension4wd
      @toughdogsuspension4wd 5 месяцев назад

      The 0-300kg spring is our comfort spring and will suit loads that vary between those numbers. If you start to exceed the 300kg mark the back of the vehicle will start to drop.

    Good tips. Overtightening the Ubolts might not be a good idea. Any tips on torque values for leaf spring bushings? Just changed the leafs out on my 2020 ranger and they didn't seem overly tight from the factory maybe around 30~40 ft/lbs.

    • @toughdogsuspension4wd
      @toughdogsuspension4wd 4 месяца назад

      The bushes in the eyes of our leaf springs are pressed into place, so there's no torque setting for those.

    Tough dog are selling their suspension lift kits for Jimny 5 door in India through their authorised dealer " blue garage " . However toughdog is not giving any warranty on their products sold in India . May I know the reason why ? Arent you guys confident of your product quality or are you guys scared of indian roads 🙂. Either ways im not buying a suspension upgrade until and unless the makers cover it with a full warranty .

Tough Dog is now available in 53 countries around the world and we wouldn’t have achieved this growth without offering an exceptional product and the support that goes with it through our Authorized Distributors! Stay tuned for more updates 😊

    Great video . Have you fitted the RTC in a Jimny JB74 ? How was the customer feedback ? Jimny is a light vehicle , will the RTC assist ?

    • @toughdogsuspension4wd
      @toughdogsuspension4wd 10 месяцев назад

      Hi! We have supplied and fitted the RTC damper to Jimny JB74 since 1998. Ever since it's been extremely successful in helping to reduce kickback through the steering in offroad conditions and helping the steering return to the centre position in offroad use. It's also very effective with larger wheels and tyres. On the road this damper works well by making the steering feel more direct at highway speed and eliminating the wondering feel that Jimnys tend to have.

      Bullshit, what planet do you live on. It all depends on what you wish to do with the car. If you want to do extreme off road the remote res suspension of any brand will do the trick. If you want to drive on the road buy a 400 dollar set, because its not going to get the work out you would in heavy offloading. If you going to load the back up then spring with a rating of 500kg and 250kg for normal use. It's noting to do with brand. You buy what you need not buy by brand. You also look for suspension with a good warranty, then you look at gas, oil, foam, double action, and single action they all work for different uses. It goes on and on. By the way outback and that other brand are made overseas in the same factor as the above, and many other brands; painted different colours and stickers and sold for twice as much. So good luck spending you 1000s when you could find something better for less money. Yes I know what I'm talking about, being a mechanic gives you that Insight.
