    Do you find this is also applicable with female Rottweilers? Our female is very dominant.

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining 20 дней назад

      Personally, it depends on the dog. A loose lead is always helpful but if your Rottweiler is actively trying to be dominant and make contact I would recommend muzzle training for safety, this way you correct and negative behaviours and reward any positive ones.

  • @BoxerRockyCanine

    Thanks again for an awesome training demo. When I’m using the slip lead it always fall down especially when my puppy starts pulling. Videos I watched on how to place slip lead shows the left or right tightening placement. Will the slip lead still be effective if I tightened it at top middle of neck to avoid constantly adjusting it or switching sides when I walk🐾✨

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining 23 дня назад

      Happy to help! Are you holding the lead short but slack while keeping the lead vertical please? When you place it high up on the neck this is best, doesn’t matter so much which side or if it’s in the middle. Generally if we can keep the dog’s head up then the lead should stay high up too. I hope this helps!

  • @LESCREATIONSDUCHAUDRON

    I have a question. What difference do you make between the "gentle leader" and the slip leash around the neck+nose that you are using ?

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining 26 дней назад

      Hello! With the gentle leader this can tighten from underneath the jaw which can enable a bit more control and doesn’t tighten around the neck where as the slip lead figure of 8 I like because I can switch between slip or figure of 8 depending on how I feel the dog is training at the time 🐾

    Hi. Just came across your channel. Like how you explain techniques to lady. I have a 3 week puppy and the dog on this upload appears to not pull as suggested by video description. The dog appears to walk ok on leash to me. My puppy starts out walking well but then he starts jumping up and grab and pull on pant legs or shorts with teeth. . He starts nipping my ankles too. I walk him in my yard on leash until he is fully vaccinated. Soon I want to walk him on streets in my neighborhood but anticipate embarrassment if he lunges and act the same way like in my yard. What do you do to stop dog from biting on your pants and jumping up? My Boxer puppy is so resistant when I pull up on leash in hope to correct this and I use my hand or knee to push him off me. Much Joy as I check out more of your uploads. ☺️🐾

      Hi! Thank you for your comment! When using lead, I would recommend this to be on a collar and not on a harness for better control. Anytime puppy jumps up to bite clothes, I like to create a 90 degree angle with the lead, verticle up from the collar and then horizontal to create distance away from pup’s teeth. I usually hold this until pup is calm then go back into my heel walking to teach pup how to walk instead 🐾 I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your future comments!

      I am already seeing results. I have got as far as luring her to my side. I wonder if you could help me with another problem I have. My adorable bernedoodle is sooo affectionate, but not with new people, she barks and avoids any contact with them. I hoped this would get better as she got older but she is 15 months now and although she doesnt now bark when she sees someone new like she jsed to,, she barks if they try to interact with her. This is despite my other dog loving new people and going up to greet them, any ideas please?

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining Месяц назад

      Amazing to hear! Dog's love the engagement! The best advise I can give if she is happy to take treats from people she doesn't know then to boost her association: Pass a treat to someone, ask them to pop their hand down (open palm) with treat on palm Allow her the opportunity to eat the treat. If/when she takes the treat you can also reward her for that positive interaction. With enough repetitions she should be able to gain enough trust for them to fuss her (from chin only - Not on top of head as this can block her vision, therefore making her feel anxious) Fuss under the chin, and then you reward her for the positive interaction whilst calling her away. Repeat this process enough times and she'll have built up trust with enough people to start being happy to interact. Let me know how you get on and if you ever need to book a call: calendly.com/pupclub/20min

    Hi cheung. I have a 15 years old dachshund and she’s loosing her confidence when I take her out for her walks she only wants to walk to the front of the house she won’t walk past the front yard it breaks my heart 💔

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining 2 месяца назад

      So sorry to hear this, when ever I'm building up a dog's confidence going outside for walks, 100% of the dog's feeds will be outside so that they're pairing up the outside noises and sights with the good emotions they gain from eating their food. Try this out for 2 weeks and keep me updated with how she gets on. Once she's showing signs of more confidence, you can then start to move the food bowl further away from the home, slow is good as we don't want her to get spooked.

    I marvel at all these calm dogs. When I command my 2 year old Giant Schnauzer to "spin" along with a hand motion telling her spin left or spin right, she does it at 500 mph, not slowly as you show. A down command is a crash! Everything is fast. But somebody walks past the house? Bark bark bark bark.... Drives me nuts! But when I'm walking her on leash, she ignores those same ppl and dogs and stays by my side, unless a person smiles and talks to her at which point she wants to slither over to say hello to her bff. Everybody is her best friend. Can you address this type of reactivity in a video?

    • @dancheungdogtraining
      @dancheungdogtraining 2 месяца назад

      Hey mate, reactivity in the home usually happens when the dog is on the furniture. Having a "no" command in place along with correct boundaries for furniture (invitation only) can greatly help with this. As soon as I get my next client with this same problem I'll certainly address it and also make sure we create a YT video around it too! 🙌
