Просмотров 42 тыс.7 лет назад
For my first video on this channel, I wanted to take a look at a few interesting abandoned locations in my home state of North Carolina. Stock footage: videos.pexels.com/
Awesome awesome
Im zorry to hear you are a potatoe. I hope you rel better
Let me get this straight, so a kid sees a scary movie on TV, can’t sleep so he sings a song about how God is Bigger than whatever he was afraid of? Where have I heard that before?
An iguana running around Ohio..? Nonsense. Unless it was a pet that got loose...
Nice perspective. Andre the Giant live in that area.
I also grew up in Concord only . 5 miles from Jackson Training school... It didn't have a fence around it in. The 70 early 80's they let the young outside they could run at anytime . My dad would always throw out packs of cigarettes for them . I've seen a few run by the house many time but hounds and police were always not far behind .. My ex-husband was sent there because of behavior problems at home at 15 he told me the still let get his GED taught him a welding trade and mechanic s so something good did come out of it. I had aunt Dixie that retired from there after 30 years she has talked about the old church across the bridge and well it has its own haunting for sure. She has been witness to these. .For what was created to help young men .. the system failed at times it was CO-ED at one time not a good idea.. SINCE THESE WERE WILD TEENAGERS .. MY LIL COUSIN DID A VIDEO DOCUMENTARY OF HAUNTING OF JASON TRAINING SCHOOL IF YOU VAN GET IN TOUCH WITH ME . HED SHARE THEM . BUT IM NOT EVEN SURE IF HE HAD PARANORMAL STUFF
I myself have been to the castle the story behind it was he was so in love with his wife he treated her like a Queen and wanted to build her own castle she became sick and he lost interest ... It has been rented out numerous times but Vandalized .. but could a beautiful. Place
Hmm I never heard this much stuff about the frogman
When I was just a small boy, my Mama took me to the Land of Oz. I remember it well, fond memories from my childhood!!!!
I'm fr NC when I was growing up and was doing something I wasn't sopose to grandma would tell me she was going to send me to Jackson training school. I didn't know what it was but I knew it sounded like a place I didn't want to go
Great explore! Great video!
Problematic, perhaps inspiring...
I WENT TO THE LAND OF OZ WHEN IT WAS OPEN
Worked at Oz while it was built carried the majority of the yellow brick. Then did head cashier duties. A really great place to work.
Wild-
I bartended at the pier and met buffet, played several times with several bands off nights and no shows...... great vibe, inde rock was alive and well...... * great job btw
Eugenics board?!?!
Very informative
Went to the land of oz in 70's My teen age years I lived in a housing development an could literally wAlk to Jackson training school from my back yard . I also visited Jts various occasions with church an a boyfriend whose dad was a cottage parent.
Chelsea - you did a terrific job on this video! Keep it up!
Omg, as kids we were threatened, "If you don't behave gonna send you to Jackson Training School". Scared us straight though...
Me also. But us army straightened me out
4:37 kermit
Beautifully worded and well put together you have a soothing voice to so its very easy to listen to subbed.
🙂👍👋
Stone wall is a historic place and of abuse
Cape Fear region born and I keep coming back; unfortunately, so is everyone else from everywhere else; but yes, all of downtown Wilmington is well haunted.. once abandoned places are now sites for overpriced condos. I wonder what folks will experience in those Indian burial ground estates...¿
I went there many times
I spent many, many hours there with my young son and still have some of the souvenirs we purchased at the shops that were open. It was one of the greatest theme parks for families to visit. It is a shame that it was destroyed and people looted depriving others of the enjoyment shared by many others.
🙂👍
The boys home has a modern detention center for juvenile boys.
Sanford has a lot of abandoned places
Love your videos and love doing this myself and also Paranormal Investigation's also Ty for all the information 😊😊😊
Nice vid
NC born and raised and still here...I was 5 in 1970 when the Land of Oz opened and my parents took me to it for my fifth birthday. I still have 8 mm film my dad took of us riding in the "hot air balloons" and seeing Dorothy on stage. I still have a glass from there that was a gift from my brother. lol it was wonderful...Always love to hear from fellow NC and enjoyed your channel very much!
My uncle shorty was employed at the land of oz as an oompa loompa in 1973.
There’s a place in Randleman near the river, it’s Old Randleman Mill. It’s freaky and I mean really freaky

You should have kept your mouth closed, now everybody's going to go there.
You don’t know shit.

You have a great, calming voice. You should do more videos! This video was well done and I hope you do more.
🙂👍
This looks like it would have been really creepy for a kid. I wasn't raised listening to Christian music, so I've never heard of Carman, but lots of 90s music videos were really odd . . . Also, I've been going through a lot of the "Childhood Trauma" tagged videos on RUclips, since the official YMS playlist only includes the ones that he tagged, but there are some fascinating ones out there. Yours is one of the interesting ones, but you didn't have any comments, so I wanted you to know that this is done quite well. EDIT: Oh, you say to talk about stuff that freaked me out as a kid that no one talks about? Cheap puppets. A lot of kids shows seemed to think that puppets were child-friendly and fun for kids. However, if you don't have enough of a budget, then you can't afford all the little articulated features for their faces and arms. Especially in Australia, a lot of the puppets on kids shows could open and close their mouths, and little else, meaning they had these staring faces with a flapping jaw. It was really uncanny, and most of them didn't look friendly at all. Especially when they were plasticky, since hair or fake fur naturally sways and moves, if a puppeted character (or an actor in a suit with an animatronic face) didn't have fur, it just looked stiff, unnatural and uncomfortable.
You mean like EC?
Your home state and you don't know how to pronounce Cabarrus County?
Andy Page - Its my home state too, and I've never even heard of it.
Ca-bear-iss
Ah the underground... worked with a few bands down there!
That one really brought back memories. Seeing all those bands down there. Partying my ass off while underage (oops, did I say that?). Never had a problem and never saw much back when I was going there, but I did hear about the situations from a friend during the 80s. I will never forget standing up front at The Bears Den and watching Robin Trower play 'Bridge of Sighs' ... wow is all I can say. Both a piece of my youth and a piece of Raleigh history ended that day in '84...
Came here from LPOTL. *tubers*
where's that place at 0:15 with the large tower located?
Whenever I we drive to my friends house and when we cross the school, theres also a weird church on the hill? Is that abandoned?
I luv eating potato chips :D
You did a excellent job on this video, don’t stop, their interesting and informative ty
🙂👍👋
Wow, I certainly thank you for sharing each place as I too am from this great State also! Now about the thing that really blew my mind is this..I wasn't looking for any such video nor did I know anything about these videos as I was searching for property in Nc. & then all of a sudden this popped up and I watched it 7 was loving it ..then the last 1 of "The Land of Oz" I couldn't believe what I was seeing, as a very young child, 1 of my 1st memories were made right there in 1979. Then while in NC visiting my Mom I asked her about it, if it was still there? Could I possibly take my young daughter as I LOVED it as a child just last evening..weird huh? I was so saddened when she said that She'd heard years ago that they closed it, my heart was broken as It was my beloved Daddy who had taken me there & made beautiful memories right there! Even more weird Yesterday was the date that my Daddy had passed away in my arms at 55 in "07"! Even weirder huh? Then to see that you said it is now open on certain dates and I knew immediately knew that Daddy sent me to find your beautiful video I have just know this to be true as he has done so any things like this, since leaving for heaven, but I now will find out when they are open and take my little one and know Daddy too will be with us with his overwhelming spirit..So I can't thank you enough & wish Gods blessings not just to you but to all those that you hold dearest, Gina James
The church across from the school is seriously creepy. It sits on top of a giant rock.
ruclips.net/video/DQ4qJ1MPGfM/видео.html ive been to that castle house this year was a very difficult journey
