Especially for notes you are studying for the first time, being slow is fast. You can finish a 10page note in 30minute but you will probably forget about 90% in the next 24hrs. You'll definitely remember it superficially, but the dept of it will be forgotten. So giving time this first time will ensure your brain takes it serious and retain it You'll then notice the next time you read that handout, you'll spend less time. Miss Favour active reading is slower than passive but it is the most rewarding. It takes time to understand the concept, to form connection, but if you do this, at the long run, you'll notice you will definitely read less as you progress. Just as how the body fight out foreign materials and microbes so also your brain fight out new information but if you feed your brain with that information long enough, it will receive it. The faster you read, the faster you forget. Thank God I'm a pharmacist I know the whole system very well. If you have a solid 200level foundation, 500level will be so easy. Just wait for it and see. If you understood it, then the next thing is to use mnemonics and practice retrieval by setting questions before you read and then answering them after you are done studying. There are many other things you can do but try this ones they work efficiently. However your brain only remember what is wired, interesting to you and funny etc
