Like a Dragon is my recent most favorite series, i've been in love with the franchise since 2015 when Yakuza 0 got hyped. And about the TV Series, it's not an amazing show like Fallout but it's still good. I went into it open minded, not comparing with the games because it's a totally different thing and by that mindset, i didn't get disappointed. Took me some time to get used to Kiryu's actor, but i understand how they wanted a more young-faced actor to play him since they wanted to show him in his 20s and then ten years later. My only gripe is that Kiryu felt like a side character in the 2005 storyline and the Majima actor was perfect, but sadly he didn't showed up as much. That aside, i liked their take on the Kiwami 1 storyline, i seriously don't understand what people want of a one to one adaptation with nothing new to surprise you. What, you wanted Majima to pop out of a sewer in the middle of the episode to fight Kiryu?

It was 1979 there was not a movie like this specially after Mad Max original the Road Warrior made an epic stamp on new action cinema forever

If this had been an anime instead of a live-action and they had played the games to have a clear idea of what this franchise is like (and they have done it right) we would have been talking about a Prime Video success and not a series that has been talked about very little only by us the fans. And what about the other people who have Prime Video? Who else will watch this and how many will have a misconception of what the franchise is really about?

He is in fact human but a kind of evil that will never be cured. We were told this from the beginning by the doctor. I don't think there is a super natural angle at all. That's why this movie is so special. Just an extreme case of some type of psychological condition. He was probably born with it since he killed his sister pre-puberty. That's my guess.

If you want to do editing in your videos, it would be better if you don't have the color cycling lamp. Time jumps that are obvious because of jumps in the color changes.

I think it's a good show. If they had put a little bit of the goofyness and the over the top 1x Many fights it would've been an incredible show.

This is why I love the stage play. Its so unafraid of being silly and its such a well meaning, dedicated adaptation of the games. Plus the actors look like they are just having a blast. Its a fun time

The Last Slumber Party is the best slasher movie.

How is Halloween the best slasher film? What happened to Psycho, perfectly told by a master craftsman?? I mean Marion Crane and Norman Bates are far more interesting and compelling than any character in any other slasher film since.

Yes. It does still hold up. Is it the best slasher movie? Probably not. But mostly because I don’t even consider it a slasher movie. It’s more of a pro slasher movie. It certainly set the foundation for the genre, I would say Friday the 13this a bigger reason why slasher tropes exist. But that’s just me.

You're right. If I weren't a student of occult studies for the last couple decades, I wouldn't have cared. Nobody else would know the deep cut references throughout. In fact, I could see the magical associations (numbers, minerals, planets, sigils, colors, etc.) in each episode, which would tell me exactly what was happening in the background. The tarot elements had to be brought in by an experienced reader, because they told the entire story arch. I loved it. Without that, I'd have been bored to tears. For someone not into witchy stuff, they went way too hard in the archetype direction, which made each character feel like....well, a character. At the same time, they tried to contextualize each character so much, that you never really knew who anyone really was as a person. Alice is an inverted, sullen orphan...but also, Elton John? Lilia is an old, schizo, cat lady fortune teller, but also....the Oracle of Delphi? Agatha is an evil, narcissistic, genocidal maniac but right at the buzzer, a selfless, redeemable mourning mother? (They did the same thing with Wanda). Jen is a mean girl from high school, snarky, above-it-all, failing-upwards business owner, but also a powerless, victim of the patriarchy, sisterhood of the traveling witches? It was just lazy - "Ok, so whatever personality we give them at the beginning, just flip that exactly opposite by the end, and we'll call that a character arch." There's also things like the Salem 7 threaded throughout the series which landed with a thud, or were never resolved, at all. Sorry for typing a book, lol. Good, honest review. Subbed.

best horror theme ever, my personal classic horror favorite is freddy krueger, but halloween is good franchise that still holds up, it has its flaws in some of the movies, but is a watch....

Masterpiece, any way you slice it.

I watched this movie on a terribly quality bootleg DVD that was recorded in the theater. The movie was already white because of the Fog, and the bootleg was even whiter. So you could barely see anything throughout the movie. I STILL liked it.

Honestly I actually like this movie less over time. I don't think it's bad or anything. But about the only thing I tend to really like about it at this point is the art direction Otherwise I think it tells a worst version of the story from the first game, has a really bad ending, and a lot of CG really doesn't look that great All the scenes with Sean Bean just make the movie drag longer than it needs to to incorporate a character that doesn't need to be there Kind of just feels like watching someone play the game instead of feeling any of the actual tension or horror it's trying to convey But it's watchable, it's definitely made by a fan of the franchise. I just don't think he ultimately does it the best justice. Especially doing things like shoving pyramid head in there for nothing other than the fan service But again, damn if overall it isn't a pretty good looking movie. I do like the director and the way he shot it

First movie really wasn’t that bad. They definitely tried to stick with the material. Reality is the plot line of the first and third games is kind of generic IMO. Not trying to hate on it, I love the games and property, but the idea of the cursed town is better with stories like 2 and 4 in my opinion.

Good review. Lisa is the one that takes care of alessa in the hospital thats why shes there. Still, cameo i guess?? And yeah sean bean should have been the one who went to silent hill. Seems more fitting.

It’s one of those starter films where if you were used to watching movies to shut your brain off to, but you wanna get into more interesting movies, this is where you should start. It kick started my cinema adulation. I don’t watch it as much as I did back then, but I appreciate it for getting myself interested in all kinds of movies

The Ezekiel passage is in the bible just the wording is slightly different, but it's slightly different in most translations because thats how translation works. It's not pulled from any one translation but seems to be a mixture of multiple, the root meaning is still the same though.

Fun takes from a fun guy and a fun horror-hotdog

It is iconic on so many levels and, I feel, still holds up well to even newer movie lovers. For people my age (37), this movie absolutely blew our minds. The heavy but very intentful dialogue, the no-limit humour/violence, and our out-of-order storytelling. He is an absolute genius at building tension. Plus it's the genesis, along with Resovoir Dogs, of what to expect from Tarantino. We had never seen a movie like this before. So many iconic lines and scenes, that are simply timeless. Is it a perfect movie? Nope. But it was perfect for its time.

Die hard Hellboy fan here and: Absolutely loved it. They nailed the comic book tone, and Jack Kesy was amazing!

The deadite at the end in the store was because the words Ash was supposed to say to go back to his time, he said them wrong.

It’s a damn shame they never turned this into a full fledged animated series… these 2 by far had the most interesting stories than any of the films imo.
