I think what Kingdom highlighted best in hindsight is that international activities are more important than ever. Stray Kids and Ateez did this the most at the time the show happened which is why they were pretty consistently in high ranks. People have to actually find you to know how good you are, and as iKON stated themselves at some point during the show (I think) they didn't do a lot internationally before, like BTOB (though they have different reasons, like military service etc.). iKON in particular would do wonders internationally, but my guess is that just being amazing musicians and charming ppl just doesn't cut it anymore. Not saying that's good or bad, but the show highlighted pretty well how a wider possible audience also means more work to put into. It's really sad though because I haven't listened to iKON in forever previously to Kingdom and rediscovered them through the show, even though I'm a stay.

Completely agree with everything! The shipping gets hella disturbing and only contributes to the self-imposed alienation of the ARMY in the eyes of the rest of the world. That and, as you mentioned, the obsessive and toxic solo stans. Ive been a fan of BTS for just over a year yet I still hesitate to call myself an ARMY (I know that’s unfair I know a lot of ARMYs are wonderful but I just haven’t met many yet). Also that whole thing about liking BTS for shallow reasons like popularity-I swear half the reactors on RUclips out there only react for the clout it gets them
