Very helpful video re: considering whether to try to get into this game system. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks for this! I just got this game and still learning, But you helped explain a few questions I had just from watching
Your dice rolls should be on camera. Makes viewing the game more exciting.
Great review, you and I think alike. Would love to see a comparison of this, ASL and Lock & Load.
My interest in this game series is reignited. Considering picking up an entry (From the Basement, probably). Thanks for providing a nice top-down play through. Have you seen White Dog Games’ The Night game? I’d enjoy seeing you play a session of that, too! (I noticed you have a video for World War Zed and figure you’rea zombie fan )
I am a partially colourblind gamer. Will I be unable to play this game?
Very well done review. This is a great push your luck game! I love it.
Another great review Doug. Please continue your efforts about solitaire gaming. Especially the difficulty of the games and what kind of time investment a player might expect.
Great overview! I've been considering this game for it's solo value and your comments have convinced me. I'm anxious to see your full game play through as well.
Just saw your very exciting playthrough. I noticed one mistake made twice. You forgot to fire with the machinegunner on position 3 in the left bottom. First time was around the 50 minute mark and the second time at 1:04. It probably wouldn't have mattered if you did though.
What I like about a lot of White Dog Games offerings, especially those by David Kershaw is that the rules are minimalist yet cover everything so well. They allow the player to delve into game play and strategy without getting bogged down in details.
I just started playing this, pretty sure Harpi movement isn't affected by any terrain including elevation, so no need to count 2 spaces! Also, when AI gets injured, should they change their orders, that's how I read it, but good play through anyhow👍
nice initial impressions. hope you can do a comparison between ost, asl, conlict of heroes and band of brothers
Great playthrough, nice and clear! And I LOVE this game! :)
Thank you for an intelligent concise review of this game. I own it but haven’t yet played it. Please continue to review/play through more solo games in the future. I am hoping for more solo scenarios with the “old school tactical” system. Once again, you presentation is very professional and I hope you keep posting content.
Damn those dice sound like their one pounders each.
Excellent playthrough. Just ordered & so looking forward to this.
Glad you liked it! I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
I love this game. As with all other John Butterfield games, it has stood the test of time and is something I have returned to time and again over the years. BTW, Aren't your wall tiles from Ambush! another great Butterfield game? My soldiers spent an awful lot of time hiding in those cover hexes. :-)
They are actually ASL. My wife painted them a few years ago as a surprise Father’s Day gift.
@@hrcgames4346 Nice Father's Day gift. :-)
Thanks for the video. Wish there was more info available on this game online. Want it but it seems pretty pricy for the “good” version.
Nice job with the overview. Helped a lot deciding whether or not to pull the trigger. TY!
Nice play through. I’d like to see how it scored though you hung on. Love the defense style game. Tension. Easy AI mechanics. 🏰 💥
Thanks. Am interested on your thoughts on the Conflict of Heroes series as well.
Great review. Have you seen Flying Pig Games' channel here? They have full game reports there.
Thanks and I will check out the channel!
Shame the rules don't go all the way and just use the proven [Case] format. "Conversational" rules are just unacceptable. @bocage rules: they tend to beat around the bush, don't they?? (I'll let myself out...)
Great review - love this game!
I'm really enjoying it as well. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review!!!
Really good presentation ! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hope you have fond memories of Australia. Interesting game. Love the strategic nature.
Absolutely loved Australia!
At 33:09 since you rolled a 10 shouldn't it have moved diagonally, inflicting, in fact a hit on your unit as well? Thanks for the video btw.. getting my copy tomorrow so i have been catching up on vids of this amazing game :)
Good catch. Thanks!
As a VERY old-school grognard, I generally HATE squares as opposed to hexagons; but.... In a beach landing game they work surprisingly well. This game looks very cool. Thanks for the review.
Good review!
Love this game. Can’t wait to play “In Magnificent Style” Deluxe, which uses the same game system, when released.
Thanks so much for this wonderful review! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
Thanks so much for taking the time to film and share this! Really appreciate it.
thank you for taking the time to make/design the game. :)
This was really fun to watch. I would use every action available though on every turn.
Glad to see someone covering this game. It seems to have flown well under the radar of a lot of people. I was a big fan of the original Forgeworld version a while back and the new, updated version of the game breathed new life into it for us. I do hope that they continue on with the line as I would love to see the return of other races as well as some new ones from the 40k universe being brought into the game.
Brilliant. Thanks so much for taking the time to review FWR!
Hi Dave I love this game. I have the first two boxes and will be looking to get the third box soon. Has it been successful from your point of view and are the any more plans for further games like this or set in the same universe ?
Awesome. Thanks so much for taking the time to play, film, and share!
Nice Review!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Wishing you the best as you move forward with your channel. It looks like it's going to be great.
I hope so as well. I have been enjoying the process so far.
