Hi my name is Tracey and I sing. 😊
I created this page as a way to document some of my repertoire. I’d really like to find a band, or an instrumentalist looking for a singer and I thought it’d be good to have some examples of my singing.
All songs are recorded and edited by me. I use minimal effects on my voice, and the songs are recorded in one take, as I’m trying to get a live “off the floor” feeling.

A Symptom of Being Human ~ Shinedown cover by TraceySings
A Symptom of Being Human was written by Brent Smith and Eric Bass of Shinedown and was written about personal struggles with mental health. This song resonated with a lot of people as well as it became Shinedowns’ 19th number one hit.
This is my first try at a green screen video. It’s a bit more of a learning curve than I thought it would be, but it’s been a good challenge.

I remember learning this song when I was taking vocal lessons Son of a Preacher Man was released by Dusty Springfield in 1968, and reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in Jan 1969. "She could pack so much emotion"..Yes, she could and Im hearin ANOTHER young lady doing some packin of HER own right in front me..LOL. No doubt your own personal stamp is found all over this rendition. Noticed that hint of natural vocal distortion/ (overdrive), which REALLY brings out that emotion, along with your pwr house delivery, which included PLENTY of heart/soul. Enjoyed it girl!

I feel that way sometimes, I'm highly critical of myself and sometimes I am not a good friend to myself. Over the years I've tried to be a better friend to myself, and to make small changes with the things in my life I am not happy with. Life is a journey and can get tough sometimes. Be true to yourself. Be good to yourself. You are good enough.

I made a choice early in my adulthood to choose happiness, because I was pretty miserable .... it's not always easy, I don't always succeed ... but I continue to try.

I think the official lyrics are "...please don't sing that sad, sad song" but for some reason I'd find myself singing " .. that same, sad song." Just a little artistic interpretation ~ lol! :-)
