VANAGON RESTORATION SERIES II For Old Times' Sake: Bare Metal II Episode 1
This is a New Van Restoration Series on my channel documenting my Volkswagen T3 or for short Vanagon restoration. In this Jurney I want to inspire others to work and experience on their own projects and also to tell my story on this van.
It is a long term project and I'm very excited to get it done the right way. I'm filming and editing all on my own and I'm improving my skills. I hope you'll find my content useful and pleasing to watch!

Respect:)
bravo
mi-o aparut in recomandari:)))))
The crankshaft seal should be level with the surface of the case. It looks like you pushed it in too deep.
UPDATE: Link to My Custom Sport Air Filter Addapter in Description!
Genial, felicitari pentru restaurare! Arata intr-un mare fel - am vazut pozele pe OLX. Nu credeam ca o sa visez vre-odata la un proiect similar, dar cand am vazut cum arata mopedul s-a plantat o samanta acolo in the back of my mind. Spor la vandut si la urmatoarele proiecte daca te mai aventurezi 💗
How did you remove the flywheel? Having a hard time with that here
Hmm, you can try with some wd40 or bolt spray and let it do its thing. If that didn't worked, go for heat, but first take the seal off. I hope it works for you!
@@timbuildstuff Thanks !
@@timbuildstuff Maybe use the right tool?
Just buy the right tools! Look for a flywheel puller piaggio ciao. These tools are cheap.
motor de 49cm3?
👍
Togliere la candela ?
No new piston rings..🤔 I built and Rebuilt a lot of Polini Speed Engines and Evolution Engines 75 cc for Vespa "SI" and Ciao.💪💪 💨💨
They were looking quite good :)) Sweet man!!
Quisiera ponerme en contacto acto contigo
Super tare Tim! succes pe mai departe!
Mersi man!!
Respect✌
hey Tim G. i'm from mozambique and im looking for a new engine for the piagggio ciao. can you g...me a hand whit that
Hi! In europe is easier to find one. Try buying one online!
Gut gemacht, nur der Simmering sitzt zu tief im Gehäuse, der muss bündig an der Oberkannte sein.
Ja, das weiß Ich! Vielen dank!
thank you! i had troubles with rebuilding it, especially the decompression cable. now i got it fixed and will test it in a bit. thanks!
I'm so happy to hear that!!
Everything is good just one thing i didn’t like is hitting too much the crankshaft, you should support the upper part so it doesn’t bend Good job with the other part engine !
Yeah... I was a bit worried at first but I've checked it and everything was just fine, also the threads. I had a hole in the table and it helped me to drive the ball bearings on place :)) I appreciate a lot your feedback! Thanks man!
@@timbuildstuff Nice video, but I agree with 3FEET. The cranchaft can get bend when hitting it with a hammer because the conrod is not alligned with the center of the crankshaf. When hitting a bearing you should have support between the 2 counterweights of the crankshaft.
@@BlackBull1t2 you are right! When I put the new bearings the shaft was frozen so I could drive them on. But yeah, thank you so much for your feedback!
Make more videos about this piaggio:))
Soon ;)
Solid work man. What type of cleaner are you using?
I only used gas to clean all the grime inside and outside the engine, disk brake cleaner and rust penentrant for some bolts.
Also the old trusty WD-40 :))
Nice Work! I love how you did it kinda of in detail!
Thanks man!
hey wher did you get your parts?
amazon and ebay
I got mines from several online part shops and I had to wait for some of them, since my piaggio is from '75 :))
I have an old Piaggio ciao i dont know what year model. I changed the spark plug but it doesnt start. Fo u maybe know what the problem is?
you need to bey more specific. did you test if there even is a spark produced by by the ignition coil? screw spark plug out, connect the spark plug and touch the threading of the spark plug against the housing of the motor. if there is no spark jumping from the two spark plug electrodes while the flywheel ist turned, then zhe ignition coil or condenser is fucked up
Hmm... you have to make sure the spark plug is working properly and you need to take the spark plug off with the wire on it and put it on the cylinder head where you have ground and then crank the engine and look if there are any sparks. Another problem can be with the carburetor, clean the air filter (mesh), and also check if the jets are clean. For that you have to open the carburetor and clean it. I also had an issue with that little floating part that keeps the level of the gas and oil mixture in the carburetor. I hope it helps! ;)
Wow! Great job!
