The Iphone Vs. Android Debate For Real Estate Agents
Thank you so much for this video. I was always told that Apple was the easiest. I disagree, I would never have another Apple computer. I fell across the Chromebook accidentally but now I think I’m keeping it and you’ve given me encouragement. I appreciate the information.
i'm glad it was helpful!
I feel like I need a Windows PC as my main desktop workhorse, but I can't justify spending $1000 on a laptop that I would use sparingly when I'm out of the house. I think Chromebook Plus laptops are an amazing companion, I can't wait to get one
Mine doesn't pinch zoom for some reason
I have a 10 year old Acer spin 15 that I am still using! It has NEVER had a virus,a serious crash, wait time clowning around for updates,no video issues and the speakers are great.had a touch screen that flips into a tablet. All it took was about a week to get familiar with it.finally getting a new one, but to get the features I have with this one, it is going to be about $600 or more.get away from windows, and you will never regret it.
I'm a retired desktop / network administrator (Windows) and I am transitioning to exclusively Chromebook but not Android (yet?). I've actually been using a Google Pixelbook since they came out in 2017 and love it, but had shelved it in favor of a MacBook Air for a while. I just miss my lovely Pixelbook... That keyboard, that keyboard, that lovely keyboard.
Just curious. What Chromebook did you go with?
I used a Chromebook and took me 45 mins to unzip email attachment then rezip it and send it, after 2 months trying to make it work I simply sold it for loss
The editing for this video is so jarring and terrible.
Team Chromebook!!!
if you activate and include linux apps with chrome os i dun see an issue?
If you like chrome os try fedora Linux faster os on any hardware. By the way Chrome OS does run the Linux kernel. The biggest downside to Chrome is that it's only supported up until a certain point in time where as with Linux you'll get support forever.
by the time chrome os support is done laptop would be dead. 10 years of support is more than enough for a chromebook considering its price and durability
I got a 16 inch ASUS Chromebook Plus with 12th gen i3, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and it was "open box" clearance at Best Buy for $366 after all the taxes and stuff. I'm typing this comment on it right now. It's been incredible and I love that it has a touch screen which my old Macbook Pro didn't have. As a bonus I checked the settings and the battery cycle was 0 meaning I basically got a brand new machine that was opened once, put right back in the box, and sold as used at a massive discount.
@@ignskeletons awesome!! I love it
Thank you for an informative video. I just bought a new Chromebook Plus, and I can't find any built-in ability to mirror my Android phone on my Chromebook - a capability you mentioned in the video. The phone hub doesn't mirror the phone screen. Please explain how you do it.
@@mdcaudle You might need a pixel to do it. I think I had a Motorola phone and it didn't work. It doesn't actually mirror the screen but it just lets you launches the apps from your phone on your phone without displaying on your phone. But I think you do need a Google pixel or a certain phone that's capable of that
I ditched my pc laptop for an iPad Pro to run whatever I have😂
I have the hp 11 g6 ee with 4gb ram/ 32gb rom, touchscreen and it runs faster than my windows laptop which is very surprising so yeah google forever i guess. advantage that i have is i use a android tablet which make file sharing so easy!!! thanks for the great video! appreciated
Being in the education line, it just works like you said. A lot of things are web-based now and Chromebook has always been ready for all of that for many years now. I think when you use technology so long you want something simpler in the end. My 3 year old Chromebook tablet delivers still especially after the latest update. It's a lot faster now and I can do all of my daily tasks; emails, presentations, note taking, office docs, Canva, sync my Google Drive, pair my Android phone, watch videos, video calling, texting and run apps from Play Store like Whatsapp/Telegram. It's complete and it generally has a long battery life. I have no complaints.
Unless you do video editing, you don't need anything but a Chromebook. Even that is changing. Remember being in school, doing that essay and suddenly you lost everything? Happened to all of us. That's never happened to me using a Chromebook.

Bro hi how to install capcut my Chromebook
You can either install it in the Play Store or use the browser version👍
Chromebooks have definitely gotten better. I have a low spec 2 core N4000 celeron with a 4GB ram Chromebook that I got back in 2020 and surprisingly enough, it works better now in 2024 than it did in 2020 since google has been adding a bunch of useful features lately, and best of all they also made ChromeOs more aesthetically pleasing so it no longer looks like a toy like it did back in 2014-2022 I do find it crazy how google will support my 2 core 4.8 Watt chromebook until 2029
Can we use wix studio website design , will it work without any lag in the browser
As much as I love windows i switched to chromebooks and its been a blast. So much easier and cheaper to run my business.
amen👊👊
I love that Chromebook "just works" in regards to not having bloatware. Every Windows machine I've ever had starts great and then slowly creeps down in performance the more I use it and the more programs are installed. On Chromebook I'm not worried about drivers, updates, uninstalling stuff, doing factory resets every 6 months, etc.
"Follow up boss is great, kv core is great but I don't use either." ugh
What do you use?
@@chadleo21 I came to your video to get a recommendation. A comparison of features in my opinion just creates a ton more questions and confusion. What if someone did that when you asked for a restaurant recommendation. This one is good and that one is also good. ugh. I use KV Core and I am considering moving to Follow Up Boss. I was hoping for some conclusions from you, but you ended your video by saying that you don't use either. I am not trying to cause problems on your video. Feel free to delete this comment.
@@RolandoGill All good. Funny enough we actually switched back to use follow-up boss. So there's my recommendation, we're in follow-up boss now😅. If I can answer any questions for you, just grab a time in my calendar👉 sharkstrategycall.phonesites.com/ Thanks👊👊
I recently switched from Mac OS to Chromebook. Granted I do not do a lot of things that most do as far as editing videos and such. I am a safety inspector so I purchased the ASUS Chromebook CM30 2-in-1 with a stylus (pen) and a keyboard attachment 8GB Ram and 128GB storage for $300 and I have to say that it took me a few minutes to get use to the keyboard but other than that it does everything that I need it to do and more. Additionally, I switched to an android phone and it all just comes together smoothly.
Love it! Yeah it totally replaced my previous setup for like a quarter of the price lol
On sale at best Buy for $249...how big is your screen the best buy is 10.5in
I have laptop and do use it but i wanted something i can use on bed or couch that doesnt get too hot. Did use tablets but i hated typing on touchscreen and keyboard options were good as i wanted to use it in bed and on couch. The few co-workers told me try chromebook if i wanted use it for absolute basics like web browsing, watching videos, chatting with friends, some office projects i can do. So far after a full year i been very happy with it. I had issues with messengers aps something lagging and not loading but thankfully few of them worked in web browser so it helped with that problem.
The background music is a little distracting
The biggest issue I have as a broker in Texas with all of this is that agents now have to be worried about what they're making WHILE making offers on behalf of their buyers. It is putting our interest as buyer agents/brokers who want to earn a living in with our buyers' interest in trying to purchase a home. We should not be mixing the two! Previously there was transparency because we knew what we were going to make - it was an advertised percentage in MLS, and we could discuss that with our buyers if we needed to. That included if it was a lower amount than the norm OR a higher amount than the norm (i.e., a bonus). Now we are negotiating our fee alongside our buyers' offer. My own self-interest as to what I'm going to make should NOT be part of my buyer representation. But now sadly, it's going to have to be. One of my agents has already had to deal with a counter offer where the seller said I'll accept X amount for my house with a 3% commission OR X amount for my house with a 1% commission. It's just gross to have to present that back to a buyer. EXP's stance isn't helpful to our industry and isn't a "do unto others" mentality at all imo. :(
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Whether right or wrong, I think this is the way things are going to go in the future regardless of it being eXp's stance or not.
@@chadleo21 I hate to think that they’ll be less transparency as we all move forward under these new rules. There really needs to be more not less. Buyer may make that point in court at some point too.
@@HeatherSRealEstateI agree we need more transparency
Great video and I can relate to what you’re saying. I’ve been practicing law for 29 years and for the bulk of that time I’ve used windows desktops and laptops. The legal profession has become more and more web based in recent years so I’ve started using a Chromebook that I had sitting around basically collecting dust. The Chromebook works so much better that I am considering upgrading to one of the 2n1 Chromebook Plus devices. New subscriber!
It's crazy how much we can do now on the web that used to take so much of a computer to power. Thank you for the feedback. I truly appreciate it, especially from somebody like yourself. Appreciate you 🙏
Neat video. I agree fully with you that Windows has become bloatware. Part of the problem is Microsoft's divided interests. It only makes 12% of profit on Windows but it makes 50% on cloud, server, and Office services. Guess where their attention will be? That's why Windows is becoming a bloated do-all platform. It's becoming less of an operating system and more of an interfacing with Microsoft's servers, constantly phoning home and asking (demanding) more of your personal information to do basic tasks. It's become a real pain, which is why Windows 11 still has not overtaken Windows 10 in market share despite being on the market for three years. I think if it were not for the Chromebook you would probably like Samsung Dex. It projects a desktop-like experience all from the phone plugged into a monitor. I hear Google is working on their own desktop mode for Android 15. While early examples are nowhere near Dex, some speculate that Google will eventually port Chrome OS to phones. One day you may not even need the laptop. The phone will do it all.
Love it! And I totally agree on the direction. That'll be awesome whenever we can run everything from our phones. I have done the Android 15 beta and use the kind of Dex version and I'm super excited for it. They definitely had a lot of bugs at the time though. Something about Samsung and Dex I can just never get behind the UI. I don't know why
Nice video - you've had the Chromebook revelation that many have already had and for lots it's still ahead of them! The ASUS Chromebook Plus CM3401 Flip looks good, hoping to try one out sometime and see how it compares to some of the other Chromebook Plus models I've tested. What are you using for most of your video editing between the mentioned Luma Fusion and Capcut?
Mostly Capcut
@@chadleo21 Thanks 👍
Video editing and photography do not come close to as good as a macbook w/ any m series chip. Now if you are doing super light video editing/photo editing, most relativley new computers can handle that & since how optimized chromebooks are, you typically have a lot less bloat and backround ram&cpu usage so it can be/seem quicker. But it is not touching an m series mac. Also big files, scrubbing through videos, playback multi layers sound/editing projects will be in a different universe with an m series mac vs a chromebook. Apple silicon is top notch. I do agree wholeheartedly though that for the normal person, there is no better bang for the buck computer than a chromebook. The way chome OS is optimized is a thing of beauty. Downloadable software is the difference maker. If you don't run software on your computer and are mostly a browser person, chomebooks are for sure the way to go.
Totally agree
your fathers 2014 Chromebook (skip >> 7m ) wont be receiving security updates any more,,, a bit dangerous in this day and age !! . maybe ,,,, buy him a modern chrome book .... which by the way has 10 years of support,
He could buy a used PixelBook Go. These go for as little as 150€ and have incredible build quality almost on par with a MacBook Air. Also the PixelBook Go will get updates till 2029.
@@Dion27375 why give him an out of date chrome book?? Get a Modern Chromebook, maybe a CHROMEBOOK PLUS with built in Ai ??? PixelBook Go.>>>>>> It was announced on October 4, 2017, and was released on October 30. In September 2022, Google cancelled future generations of the product and dissolved the team working on it.
It was really good hearing this from someone who is making good money as a business man and doing an extremely fair (and intelligent) assessment of the three major platforms. I work as an IT Manager for an investment firm and have run a side business (technology based) for 30 years and this is one of the best reality based explanations. BTW... I have all three platforms and they all have specific uses in my personal and business life as I love technology. Anyway.... loved the video.
I really appreciate the feedback from someone like yourself. I share your love for tech as well👊👊
Great video! Check the latest Asus Expertbook CX54 just now coming out. It looks spectacular!
Thank you!! I saw that and you're right, it looks awesome!!
Very interesting perspective! I love the concept of a Chromebook, but I gotta say, I love my Macbook Air M1 for how smooth and quick everything feels. Everything that I do is web based, so I'll definitely be giving it another shot in the future.
Thanks!! I actually had the same Macbook and no doubt it was awesome. I'm genuinely shocked that I've been able to replace it with a $350 Chromebook lol. I've had no issues in about a year now.
I've had a chromebook for 4 or 5 years now. Its perfect for all I have todo on when out and about. The android apps are great! The one thing about Google is that they discontinue products and serves very often, and not much you can do about it. I really liked the google play music, google podcast, and google 1 vpn.
noice i love it
Thank you!!
Can I chime in with something relevant? I very recently jumped out of the Apple ecosystem to a Chromebook (which I upgraded to 2tb of storage) and heavily make use of the fact that modern Chromebooks also have a full install available of Debian Linux. Between Debian's entire repository, Snap, and Flakpak options at your fingertips, you can use pretty much any native Linux desktop app, well, natively! Once installed, no cloud necessary. So I spent a little more money for a higher end device, and having a triad of platforms seamlessly working together on one device (ChromeOS + Android + Linux) is just ridiculously spectacular.
Love that!!
That sounds amazing, can you tell me what model of Chromebook you purchased?
@@Turborb26 sure! I'm using the ASUS Chromebook Plus CM3401 14"
That's what I run on my System 76 Oryx Pro, Debian 12~! I've purchased the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 Ryzen 3 Laptop a few days ago ($352 on Amazon) and am curious to see what it can do at that price point. Can I get VS Code, install the default-jdk, use Scala 3, & create and save html files on a Chomebook? that is the question.
@@josephglover4546 Once you install the Linux container, you can use anything in the full Debian repositories, plus add your own as with any Debian based distro, not to mention snap or flatpak. I don't know what squat about coding so the stuff you just rattled off, if it installs under Linux, well you will be in a complete Linux environment (inside the linux container.) If you are comfortable with the command line you are in the same environment you already know about 🙂
Question is, what Chromebook are you using? I'm thinking of getting one for my self for international travel.
Nice! I'm using the ASUS Chromebook Plus CM3401 14"
@@chadleo21 You said it's the convertible Flip model version right? 2:03 I'm hoping to get my hands on one sometime to test, looks decent and glad to hear you've had a good experience with it.

Chad, EXCELLENT information sir!
Glad it was helpful!👊👊
I did much the same thing, switching from Apple to ChromeOS but went nuts and got an Android phone, watch and a nice upper-midrange Chromebook ($450 😁) but it didn't stick and I switched back to the "old familiar" Apple ecosystem. I do like the Android system a lot, though, and may try going in piecemeal this fall when the new gear comes out. I do still have a Chromebox and screen that I might pull out of the closet and warm up in the mean time. Great video, thanks. 👍
Thank you!! Yeah that system shock is rough all at once haha.
basically chromebook is fine just i expect Google would offer us better offline apps, their office suite apk is far back, you rely on internet for better office and actually i expect chromebook would run apps non playstore natively, not side loading
Personally I'm never offline so it's been a fit for me
Not very often are we offline anymore but Chromebook is like any other computer. You can use email, documents, spreadsheets, music and movies and do lots of creative tasks like image editing without internet connection.
@@MikeSimpson1 💯
Same sort of story as me. It started with "What's all the buzz about pixel phones" I got a second hand one and loved its work flow. Then "How bad can a Chromebook be?" So I got an entry level second hand one off gumtree. I've never looked back, they're amazing. The integration is fantastic and the apps are getting better all the time. As you say full HD video editing, I'm not a gamer but I understand they're not bad at gaming. Google Docs took a bit of getting used to but once I understood how to import docs and sheets into Google. Glad I made the switch. Google android apps, we store and PWAs are great
Love it! You really did go on a similar journey haha. It's so much more cheaper with the same capabilities and simplicity is Apple. Loving this life
@@chadleo21 Yeah I went though the apple ecosystem for its "just works" and its simplicity - but I couldnt afford to upgrade the laptop when laptops/phones fell out of support. OK Chromebooks have a support schedule but google "chromebook 10 years support" - you maybe plesently suprised
Enjoyed that video. Subscribed 👍🏻
