Anita Ratnam is an award-winning performer, cultural activist, arts entrepreneur and producer. Her works draw on her distinct movement vocabulary, rooted in India while being contemporary, with a powerful feminist voice. Anita’s is a unique 360-degree engagement with the arts-curating pioneering festivals, including The Other Festival, India’s first festival of contemporary dance; creating unique platforms for cultural voices such as Narthaki.com, the largest online portal on Indian dance; and collaborating with artistes across genres. Even after fifty-five years on the stage, Anita continues to push boundaries, experiment with new media, and reinvent herself for a digital era.
