I Can’t Believe I Got a Set Of These OEM Wheels!!
I have a strange fascination for all things rare and OEM. These wheels are perfect for me for that very reason. I see a lot of 1 series builds out there that use the same few different wheel choices, so I wanted to be different with my 1er. The Style 496 is so rare to find, I did not actually look for these. I just happened to be scrolling Facebook marketplace when I saw them and knew exactly what they were. Not only were they a great find, they were incredibly cheap and included practically new tires and working TPMS sensors. I’m so happy with the way my car is shaping up. I have a manual, the pull on low throttle is really bad, it's so sluggish. You have to floor it to feel the power. I endup having to by a throttle controller got a sprint booster which made the car feel so so so much better! I'm hoping this new map makes it better so I don't need the throttle controller!
We waiting for 1.84 for 2 years and it was useless, made it slower, I took it off and went back to 1.60! I blame twisted tuning! Terrible tuners

I have an Eisenmann sport exhaust with a de cat, sounds quiet as hell, unless you put your foot down. I rather not put burbles but I have to otherwise too quiet, I put on soft for 0.5sec I get the realistic sounding burbles, but every now and then if you drive it fast you do get big pop, I'm pretty sure I'm spitting out flames when that happens!
@@airjaff it sure feels that way doesn’t it! I’ve noticed that too, that after the exhaust warms up the pops get much more aggressive.

I'm not sure why it is giving that error and I'm not finding much info about it online. This guide is for setting ISTA up for E series. My guess is either the connection type you are using is incorrect for the G series platform, or this version of ISTA+ is older than your car and perhaps you are missing some files for it. Those are just my shots in the dark though as I do not know enough about the software and how it works at a computer engineering level to say for sure. How much have you dug around in the forums for an answer? I've poked through probably about 15-20 threads looking for a solution to this have not found anything yet.

@@IvoStatev QBitTorrent can be finicky to get to work correctly. I was able to get mine to work after a few tries. It took a couple hours to finish.

@@ValentinoSnyder yes and yes. Tried E30 this past weekend because I was visiting an area that has E85. Truthfully, I didn’t notice much of a difference. I’ll have to do more testing with it in the future when I have better access to E85.

I noticed on google drive that there is a 4.50.21 version out now have you tried it out? I’ve had 4.39 for a while now I was wondering if you think installing it would be the same process
My guess is that it would be similar but I believe that the 4.32 version is the most recent one that does not require an activation key. That could have changed but if not then you'd need that to install. Other than that, my guess would be that the steps should be the same.

It can be a little fiddly to get qbittorrent to work right. I'm not an expert but I was able to get it to work by watching some videos and digging through some reddit posts. You have to mess with your settings and possibly use a VPN.

I did an adaptation with an autel unit after changing the dct box fluid and filters. Now the clutch is slipping on track, gear 4. Im hoping using ista will resolve the issue. No fault codes and gearbox temps are ok.
@@JakeBM4 when you reset the adaptation with the autel scanner, did it actually make some noises in the trans like it was moving stuff around?
Yes the gearbox was making the same noises as are in this video. I had no issues before the gearbox service. I'm hoping I didn't damage something 😢
@@JakeBM4 How many miles were on the trans before you did the service, and had a service ever been done before? I have heard of scenarios where changing the fluid causes slippage if the fluid had not been changed for too long. I am almost certain that the transmission service and adaptation resets could not have caused damage to your trans.
The service was done at 88k miles, now at 92k. I'm running the BM3 CS+ map so not big power. Reading online it could be related to the diff bush, pretty sure mines toast. Someone online had a similar issue but they were stage 2. Also I was wrong, there is a DCT fault code 40D410.
Could it be the fluid, I used Mobil DCTF, not genuine BMW?
I like the idea and the effort you put in, however I think your measuring method is flawed. While rolling around on a 50 degree day, there's no reason there should be a full second discrepancy within the same tune. Dragy is absolutely necessary for this type of measuring.
While I agree that Dragy may be able to give a more precise measurement, I mentioned that the pavement I used had a grade to it, meaning one pass was downhill and the other uphill. This is what resulted in the difference between the two times on the same tune. I imagine that if I did both passes only going downhill, both times would have been very close to each other.

@@SylosLobbies anti lag is part of MHD+ which they are still testing on the e series N55 before they release it. I’ll make an update video as soon as we have it
I recently got my e82 N55 and looking to go stage 2 MHD. Is it a good idea to go straight to these new Beta tunes? Or is it better to wait until they come out of beta testing.?
@@ishannage248 for my car, I’m confident in the quality of these tunes and them being safe to run. With you not ever running MHD before though I can understand your concern. You can go with the 1.6 version if you want to swap to the new maps later, or just go with the beta version straight away and try a different version if there’s issues. I don’t think it would blow your engine up regardless. Just do a log and make sure you’re not running lean, boost isn’t far from the target, and aren’t getting timing corrections.

@@sl0wf.30 absolutely. Never beat on these cars before they warm up. I think that should be a given, tuned or not. Hopefully people are reading this and realize the severity of it is much greater on this platform than a Toyota Corolla.

@@kaMikaze-fe4wy are you sure it’s 2.XX beta for PWG? I’m not sure what version they’re up to on f series N55 but if it was 2.0 then it’s just a coincidence

@ weird yeah I wouldn’t suggest flashing it if it says PWG then… might want to reach out to MHD about that. Sounds like they might be doing something behind the scenes that is messing with stuff
I have just updated to v2.0 coming from v1.6 stg1+. Im happy the hickups i had while cruising on the highway are now gonne. I just want to validate now if my valvetronic fault when weather is bellow 5C will also go away (bmw has done a fix for that in the past but seems not to be included in mhd). @@rodrigomeca I’m not sure about the valvetronic code fault you’re having. I wonder if a software update is required in order to integrate the fix that BMW had for it. I’m not knowledgeable on this fault though unfortunately.

Hi Jason, will it be safe for us to have and use the BETA maps until the official one comes out? Or this BETA maps is only for us to try a couple of days or weeks?
I have been running the BETA maps for several weeks now. As far as I know, these maps are safe to use. I doubt MHD would have released them to the public if they were not. This project has been going on for several months. Back in June, they were originally only sharing new maps with those that volunteered to be BETA testers. After having good results, they released them to the public. My guess is they are still called the BETA maps because they will probably make a couple tweaks and then release the official maps along with MHD+. Just my theory. If you are concerned, best thing you can do is to take logs and make sure that everything is looking good and safe. Make sure your boost is not going wildly above or below the target, make sure you are not having any timing corrections, and make sure you are not running lean. In my case, I am confident with my logs and the way that the car feels to drive so I am not returning to the old maps.

Hi Jason, my car is 2011 E92 335i N55 DCT, basically it's the same like your car.. Just wanna ask regarding the XHP, I am planning to get it on the up coming black friday sale 😀.. Right now I am running MHD tune V1.60 stage 1+. The thing that makes me confuse is, do we directly flash the xhp while my car is on MHD tune? And later on reflash the MHD tune again with transmission option "manual or xhp flashed AT"? (Because right now the MHD tune was using the transmission option "Dual Clutch" selected) Or.... Reflash MHD tune first with transmission option "manual or xhp flashed AT" and then go for XHP flash? And I have done all the gearbox adaptation from your video using ISTA, do I need to to the adaptation again after XHP flash? Looking forward for your guidance and assistance 🙏😁

My answer: xHP and MHD are flashing different modules or computers in the car, so they are independent of each other. I have flashed xHP and MHD back to back before or spread weeks apart. Q: Reflash MHD tune first with transmission option "manual or xhp flashed AT" and then go for XHP flash? My answer: you can flash in any order you like. If you want to see what the car feels like at each stage of the process rather than doing it all at once, you can do that. Or you can go straight to flashing Stage 2+ and xHP stage 3 at the same time if you want. Totally up to you. Q: do I need to to the adaptation again after XHP flash? My answer: No sir. Only do the adaptation as you feel it needs to be done. Seems like you are afraid you might mess something up on your car. I was the same way before I had any experience doing it but now I realize that the risk is low. Just make sure you aren't running any accessories and use a battery charger when doing a long flash if you are afraid your battery is not in great health. I personally have flashed my car (MHD or xHP) too many times to count and have not used a battery charger at all. I do like to flash right after I have driven home so I know my battery is completely charged from the alternator. My longest flash took about 4 minutes so the risk is pretty low, especially since my battery is in good health. If the flashes were actually taking 20 minutes like they used to years ago, I would want to use a battery charger. I've heard that factory software updates take a long time because theres like 26 modules to flash, so in that case I would use a battery charger. But for MHD and xHP, I would encourage you not to be worried!

Im about to order the st xta for my 335i coupe, however in the pictures they don't show any nuts that come with the kit, did you have to get anything extra with the box to install these ?
I did order some mounting hardware for the rear. The top nut, the upper bushings, and the lower mount and nut. I reused the nuts for the front top hats
@JasonJoyrides so you ordered the bushings for the rear? I have those on order as well. So you re used all hardware that came off the front to install the front struts?
@ yes. Some people say not to reuse the hardware. Some people say you can use it a couple times. Some people never ever replace them after a dozen uses. I decided to use it again this time and refresh all the hardware later when I do control arms.

Can't use the 2.xx but I can't wait for the MHD+ so I can use some anti-lag. Been using the f/g app for logs as it's so much better and faster
I threw on the beta maps and after a drive and only one quick pull, car started jittering all over the place in low rpms, i took it off as soon as it started. Hopefully they come through with a smooth transition to the new stuff
It seems to working well for most people but a couple guys have had issues. Hate that for you man! My only guess is that the new maps are less conservative so it is blatantly obvious if you have hardware not operating at 100% or gas that is lower quality than advertised. Just guesses and speculation though. Hopefully it works for you in the future!

Messed around with stage 1 on the 2.xx map coming from stage 1+ on 1.60 and it feels really comparable. If anything the new map is easier to drive and has more low end. Still hitting similar numbers for boost. I also noticed that the F/G MHD app isn’t picking up the code for my exhaust flap being disconnected. Not that it really matters just something I noticed. Appreciate the videos man!
Sweeeeeet. That's weird about the exhaust flap code. I know that with MHD+ we will get the option to configure the exhaust flap in any mode so you may be able to hook it back up eventually and get that code to go away completely

@carcrazyguysa4059 They said they plan to give us MHD+ and I saw a comment on a Facebook post where someone said they heard that testing is going well. I wouldn’t lose out hope yet!

@@Sleepy335i oh that’s one thing I forgot to mention in the video! The burbles on these maps are different. The OEM style has the volume of the 1.6 soft burbles but are less gun shot like. I’m on OEM style .9sec with the 2.XX map.

Thanks, bro! I've been on v1.60 for a while after a few underwhelming 1.84 flashes and I wouldn't have known about this if it wasn't for the video. Is it a long write or a quick 30 sec. flash? I dont have a trickle charger right now 😢.

When do you flash DCT to xHP flash?
@@Levrrrrr do you mean when did I flash my DCT? Or when do you flash in relation to MHD? xHP is completely separate from MHD. You can flash either one as much as you want and they will not affect one another. I flashed xHP on my car several months ago after I did a full service. I’ve flashed MHD maps probably 20 times since then in all of my different testing and the trans tune never changes.
@ Could you please tell me: I bought an MHD Super License for the E series and installed Stage 2+. To do the same as in this video, do I also need to purchase a license for the F and G series, or is it enough just to download the app to my phone?

@@Levrrrrr no extra purchase. The new maps are included with your original license. You just download the F+G app and log into your same account just like you did when you first got the N55e app. It will recognize your license. The xHP tune is awesome. The DCT acts much more like an M car. Upshifts are extremely snappy. Sometimes I'll even get a loud crack out the back on upshifts. Downshifts are much quicker too. It's like the car barks instead of revs. It's also nice to adjust the shiftpoints and launch control although I don't really use launch control for fear of breaking something.
