Solid Surface Countertop Passthrough
I had someone ask how we made those weird little passthroughs for the countertop. I had some footage of it, so I cut together a quick video.
The intention of the passthrough is to stop spills from going under the counter : )
The full build of the countertop can be found here:

Huge Solid Surface Counter Build
Просмотров 1202 года назад
We have built a bunch of these custom counters over the years. This one is over 14 feet long and 36 inches deep. It weights several hundred pounds when completed. They are built to last a lifetime. We wanted to get away from installing any kind of material that would rust or mold, and didn't like the look of full stainless steel. The holes in the counter are pass-throughs for drain lines and wa...
Heat Bending Electrical Conduit
Просмотров 5432 года назад
After a long hiatus from making RUclips content, we are finally back! We had to make a bunch of custom bends for some electrical conduit. The pipe is schedule 40. It is 4" in diameter and 20' long. The bend radius was called out at 5'. We used the Greenlee heat bender and a custom made jig on the weld table to get the radius correct. Custom Sign Build
Просмотров 3173 года назад
This is a custom sign for a local construction company. This sign will hang in the boardroom of their new headquarters. I really enjoyed the challenges of this build. We wanted to keep the rusty look of the metal, and attaching it to the walnut backing board was challenging. I couldn't weld on the backside of the metal because it would discolor the front. I ended up building some custom studs t...

Weld Table Update - Swiss Cheese
Просмотров 4323 года назад
I have had these weld tables since 2016. This year I finally got around to making some updates on them. The biggest of them was drilling a hole pattern in the top surface for fixturing. I designed a template that utilized a mag drill to produce a 5x5 grid pattern in the top plate. It was a ton of work, but the results were well worth it. Metal Miter Saw Station - Part 1
Просмотров 14 тыс.3 года назад
This build is part of a shop improvement project. We have been needing a better way to cut steel material for our fabrication projects. I have been frustrated with the standard miter saw bench designs so typically used, so I am trying out an idea I had a while back on how to utilize a miter saw bench as a "bench" and still be able to use it to cut material. Fingers crossed it actually works!! O...

My favorite dewalt tools that I have are the cordless jigsaw, router and random orbital sander, in that order. The jigsaw is probably my favorite because it is much better than my bosche corded jigsaw, both in convenience and functionality. My older porter cable 690 routers are still very nice and the dewalt is just lighter/more portable. I have only ever had my dewalt sander so I have nothing to compare it to except a crappy corded harbor freight sander.

Dude, you're costing me money here😂 As an electrician, HVACR tech, and general maintenance person, I should have bought a portaband years ago. Cutting all the different materials, I've after the other, sold it for me haha. That battery powered shop vac having the option to plug in such a great feature. I have a makita dust buster type thing, which is handy, but a wet / dry shop vac that runs on batteries, and has the option to plug in, is just too convenient to pass up.

I just need to know how strong the Screwdriver is. Most screwdriver's are so weak, unable to fix anything.

    • @Knacksmith
      @Knacksmith 2 года назад

The screwdriver is by far the most used tool in my collection. I work on a lot of industrial restaurant equipment. Espresso machines, smoothie machines, frozen drink, fridge, freezers and the like. It is perfect for that kind of work. It will drive #8 two inch wood screws fairly easily. The good news is that it has an insane mechanical breaking system. If your hands are strong enough, it will break loose or tighten anything a standard screwdriver will.
