I think you are missing the point - this tool will ADD a new key. If someone has one key fob and wants to have two for the car, they'll need the 2nd one programmed and this tool does that (while skipping the dealership prices). When you say "resync" it sounds like you are talking about adding back in an existing key that was previously programmed to the vehicle. This is rarely needed, but when a resync is required it can typically be done without special equipment.

On most vehicles with "Driver 1" and "Driver 2" labeled fobs, the key fob is actually identical and just the text on the shell is different. Each fob programmed into the vehicle will have it's own distinct seat memory regardless of what whether the fob is labeled with a "Driver 1" or "Driver 2". Note - this is for most vehicles - there may be a few where it doesn't apply, but we're not aware of any .

Sounds like you only have 1 working key fob for your 2022 Ford Escape. Unfortunately, the programming tool does not yet work past 2019 on Escape. Look to the bottom of this 2020-2023 Escape page tomskey.com/collections/ford-escape-2020-2023-push-button-start?. If you only have 1 working key fob, you'll need a dealership or locksmith to program the 2nd key. They should program both keys without charging any extra than what they charge for 1 key. But, if they try to charge extra to program the 3rd, be sure you watch the demonstration video linked at bottom of the page. Once you have 2 working keys for your 2022 Escape, you can follow the video to program the 3rd in just a few minutes. Sorry our DIY solution for your vehicle is not yet functioning and for any confusion. Thanks for letting Tom's Key Company help you.

Hi - sorry about that. Amazon blocked our ability to sell the programmer. They think it's for stealing cars (even though one needs to already have a working key to use the programmer). Anyway, email help@tomskey.com with a photo of your key and vehicle info and ask for help getting just the programmer.

On most vehicles, Driver 1 and Driver 2 are simply the label on the key fob. The actual assignment is occurs either a) the order the fobs are programmed or b) some owners manual have a procedure on how to assign and save the seat position. So, the Driver 1 / Driver 2 labels are just printed on the fob, so you don't miss out on anything. My recommendaiton is that you program the new key and then follow instructions in vehicle owners manual to save the desired settings to the vehicle memory for that key.

If the spare key fob has been programmed to another vehicle in the past, it needs to be reset to clear the prior vehicle from memory. Then it can be programmed. You can ask our customer support team (help@tomskey.com) if they still offer a service to reset the old fob. Note, that does come with the risk of the postal service / UPS/ FedEx loosing the package. We may not be able to do the reset anymore, in which case you may be better off just ordering an aftermarket fob with the programmer.
