Roughly how many times to rotate the crown in order to wind a manuel watch from zero to hundred percent?

I own 3 218 and 1 214 space view they are not fragile and they are very accurate. I agree this watch need service and a bath.

I have the ST3600 movement in a clone Panerai PAM111 case. It is a beautiful watch that is keeping almost perfect time, 1-2 seconds a day. Can`t complain about that. The person that built the watch said that the movement came dry, so he had his watch guy oil lubricate it.

If you're putting enough stress on a crown while winding it to snap it, you've got problems.

I have miyota 8285 movenment . its accuracy is +- 1 second per day

In my experience the 8215 is at least as good a movement in use as the NH movements.

Rotor sound on miyota is VERY loud and annoying. I'll never buy it again!

TQ for this video. I bought mine in 1995 for only USD 1000. At that time the 41mm version was only available in quartz movement. Even Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond movie "Tomorrow Never Dies" was a quartz version.

Only big difference is winding direction

My hand wound Rolex Precision I count the number winds. And completely rundown is 23-25, and daily is about 18. So I know when slow down and don’t take it a hard stop, just increased resistance.

The problem is that there is a design fault with eta and the sw and PT clones. This is well known and called cheese gears which are a very weak alloy and they will shed teeth. NH and Miolta movements do not have this weakness.

Beautiful chronograph. I am still using my Seiko 6139-6005 chronograph as my everyday watch for almost 50 years. I find these vintage movements very interesting.

As a movement to start learning watchmaking it is great. Big, simple and beautiful (as opposed to other cheap movements). Also mine came lubricated

I don’t understand at the beginning when you say it is easy to work on. The single bridge on top of 5 pinions (gear train and 2 from the automatic system) makes it very hard to reassemble. That is from experience but I am new to watchmaking however I heard the same from very experienced watchmakers.

not knowing when it this rolex was previously serviced or ever serviced at all previously means this video is not meaningful at all , we can only deem rolex is very accurate if we can be sure this watch has never ever been serviced at all.

I've noticed you hand winding seems to be back and foward and not just clockwise... Is this ok?? or you shoul just wind with a clockwise move??

The 82S0 falls inline with the 8215 correct? I was looking at a watch with that movement but I'm unsure about. it I go for quartz more then auto being the whole servicing part. Though i hear good things Miyota so even if its a basic movement I'm sure these are good.

I made one too. Same process as yourslf. Starting with ordering the NH36 movement. I opted for a stainless steel diver's watch syle case with rotating bezel, matt black dial with black calendar wheel and luminous orange dial markings with matching lumed orange hands. It looked amazing. I proudly showed it off for the first time in the pub. I took it off to hand it to someone who wanted a closer look. The bezel came off while he rotated it and he just looked at me in horror before bursting out laughing. Anyway... I ordered another case but the stem was slightly too short to fit the new case. Another stem ordered for £25 (the total price of the home-made watch was becoming a bit expensive) I filed the new stem too short because the date wheel was acting weird. It sits in a small box waiting for a new stem 2 years later.

In my 64 years I’ve never experienced a busted mainspring-whether in wristwatches, pocket watches or my beautiful clocks. It is generally impossible to overwind. If you are a good steward of your antique/ vintage watches and clocks (for the enjoyment of future generations we are NEVER ‘owners’, only simple, very modest caretakers) then you’ve already maintained regular servicing, overhaul and lubrication (as we do with our motor vehicles). If so, no issue here. If not-‘watch’ out… and for all our sakes-don’t caretake timepieces.

A lot of people are moding these classic watches, if you can find one without any aftermarket modifications buy it. The value of the skx is sky rocketing

I have seen over 100 pocket watches, i saw a few balance staffs broken, couple of other issues and maybe one main spring broken. I cant really agree that much. It is pretty hard to overwind a watch.

no hacking or hand winding?! mineral crystal, stamped clasp. SEIKO are the kings of mediocrity.

take the 7s26 for exemple, why can't this movement be handwound, think about it...

Some movements are more susceptible to get into problem or break from winding but generally if automatic watches wrecked by winding i'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a damn hand winding feature.
