George McEwan is a poet who met Billy Connolly whilst running Ayr Folk Club. He wrote The Welly Boot Song which was used as a theme tune by Billy for many years.

I was listening to this on podcast and when John was talking about Karate, Judo and breaking his jaw I had to watch the video to see this guy 😂. Heard it twice now and still laughing.

The levels of stupidity on display in the first 15 mins of this was enough to put me off for life. It was like 5 people who had spent their whole life in separate basements, in tthe dark, getting out for the first time and asked to do a cryptic crossword in a foreign language as a futile team challenge. What has happened to the world? All hope, faith and optimism drained from me and I knew instinctively there was no future for humanity. Is this what comedy is meant to do? What even is this?

Billy Connelly adapted this song from The Work of the Weavers song, and that NZ bloke just ripped it off and adapted it to be more New Zealandy Everybody rips us off and then claims they were first
