wildly off topic but i have to ask because i saw the gameplay on B roll, have you played echoes of wisdom and if so, you’re thoughts?
i have indeed been binge playing it since release, and its much better than i thought it would be. It did the mix between classic and modern zelda very well and the narritive, ost, and characters are all pretty good. It didnt blow my expectations out the window, but it met them and maybe did a bit more.

my time would be wasted making a passionate statement for all of us that wholeheartedly disagree with this information, so i’ll just this instead; the game wasn’t dying, it just always had a niche audience. that tends to happen when games don’t hold your hand, players get filtered out because it’s not what they’re looking for and those that enjoy a more adventurous, curious playstyle stuck around. contrary to popular belief, sales and quality are rarely aligned one to one.
True, as different generations came and went, that niche just got smaller and smaller, and then nintendo expanded to save the series. Game sales since oot had gone down though, apart from the tp spike.
@@cuccoses well of course sales went down, they developed what at that time was considered a modern marvel, literally paving the way with their engine and game design. but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re right. the only thing i disagree with is “saving” the series. don’t get me wrong, i like BotW, and so do others according to the sales numbers. but i don’t feel like i’m playing Zelda when i smash the Master Sword against a tree and it bursts into a thousand pieces. i could go on but we both know what’s up, no triforce, no real dungeons, no items beyond a couple powers you get at the very beginning of the game. if they changed the name of Link, Zelda, and Ganon to some random stuff and took out a couple places that are call backs to previous games, you would have no idea it’s even Zelda. once again, i like the game, im just not a fan of what can sometimes feel like a cheap skin on the frame of a different game just to drag old Zelda fans back.
@@zeyolivetree i know exactly what you mean. ive heard a few people say similar things, like that botw should have been part of a different IP, and i honestly somewhat agree. Im just grateful it actually came out and did as well as it did because i feel like nintendo needed that because zelda was in a bit of a limbo. I think we both agree with some of each other’s points, and sorta kinda disagree on others. I totally get what you’re saying.
@@cuccoses like i said, i do really like BotW, i don’t wanna talk about TotK, but i enjoyed the 300 hours i put into BotW without question, especially the old Zelda call backs and links. i guess i just miss the days where you’d bust your ass through temples, earning new rewards the whole time, only to finally earn the new “sword of evils bane,” and cut it up from there. regardless though, i respect that you actually heard me out, had an intelligent conversation, and know what you’re talking about. catch this like and subscribe, keep it up man.

This is not accurate, wind waker sold 4 million copies which trended downward from ocarina of time but Twilight princess trended upward and sold over 7 million between the GameCube and Wii combined

@cuccoses no you just bottle it and drink it. It refills all hearts. A simple google search will show you. You can buy hot spring water from a goron in castle town also
