Can the Minisforum EM780 Compete with Full-Sized PCs? Price & Performance Reviewed!
Someone mentioned in another video that the Final Fantasy roms are not on this? Can you confirm. I’m specifically interested in the SNES Final Fantasy’s like FF6
If you were going to get the larger RP5 you might as well get the Odin 2 portal. Since these are both larger anyway it is better to get more power and bigger screen. The mini is good for more portability.
I disagree, the rp5 is bigger but it's not near the size of the portal. The portal is about the same size as a handheld PC like the Ally, the rp5 still fits in a coat pocket, it's a little longer than most modern phones.
I know it says that its not recommended to delete things, however myself and many will be wondering - if i do delete a game because i already have it, or its duplicated on another frontend and works better, will the drive and everything update to detect its been removed? Like say for example, RDR2 on Playnite, you remove it, is playnite going to remove the artwork and everything related to it?
I literally live in amish country, and don't have internet (besides my phone) so this is *exactly* what I need, since I can't acquire my own rom sets. Thanks for the video!
Yep. Less switch 👍
I agree, the Wii is the console that got me to give up console gaming for a while, I waited all night in line to get it early on when demand was through the roof. I felt jaded due to the gimmicks nintendo was pulling with peripherals and the games felt sub-par. All the while Xbox and microsoft were pushing massive amounts of DLC and Live subscription fees. I did not get back into console gaming for almost a decade later.
How do we install gAmes.is it free
how to put these hdd directly to pc, do I need special psu?
It won't fit, it's more designed for servers
Shame about the 6gb of ram :(
I have ordered one to use for the roms library to be able to run Launchbox on my NVIDIA Shield
I never understood how some people dont think this is worth it. Like i personally have a 4tb batocera build . But tbh i bought this about a week ago with the intention on basically harvesting the games. So now with the 4tb that i built i will prob bump it up to 8tb. And tbh between ps2,ps3,switch even if only 90% of those games worked its still 100s of games that do work just between those few systems. So yes, I would say not having to do the labor of configuring and hunting down these games. It’s totally worth it.
Somebody can help me how to fix the resolution in PS2 games...so can run in my PC.
I covered it a little on the video, go to the PS2 games and open the menu, you should see some options including resolution and aspect ratio there.

Do all games have screenshots and video snaps?
Yes they do
if i only care about retro games so arcade/atarti until ps1 and dreamcast what Kinhank drive is the one?
Maybe 4TB
Did you get OTA updates? I saw someone jump from 3571 to 4603 in the geekbench vulkan score; so maybe another performance comparison can be made afterwards
It wasn't OTA but I did do the update and from what I'm seeing it's even with the RP mini now. I'll have a video up soon.
Good to know, thank you! I look forward to a comparison, though it’s probably not going to be a large difference it seems
@@sharktooth30yt48 its not a big jump just more stable and the battery life seems to have improved.
I got an ally for 400 the x isnt worth double the price .. Not to me
They are on sale on best buy right now
Beautiful video, and also congrats on over 20k views!! 🎉❤
@@crystal_is_cozy thank you 😁
I am looking to get my first gaming hand held. This video helped me make my decision. Tha k your for the detail look at the games
I'm glad I could help
I wish they could send to mexico 😢, or at least to tj, i was waiting for the rp mini and then discover that they dont send to my location 😅
Yeah I asked too but they only send to the US, so I had to cross for mine 😂
i really hope a ~$300 Retroid Pocket 5 "Pro" with a Snapdragon 8gen2 or 8gen3 (+12gb of RAM) is in the works, lovely design imo but i could only consider it with an SOC that has enough power to properly emulate Switch games
I don't see that happening, Retroid does budget/midrange devices. Nothing's really going to properly emulate switch games, if you want something for the switch my advice is to get a switch and mod it.
Just get a steam deck if switch emulation is that important to you
@durtdittie the steam deck is stupidly big, not portable enough, same reason I refuse getting a Odin 2 (I don't like the Odin 2 mini either, RP5 design or Aya Neo Air's design and size are closer to what I want)
@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruh well for the size you are looking for you have to make sacrifices, they aren't going to run switch to your expectations
Better screen than rg556 is a great compliment
Another great review! Now I'm second guessing buying the GameCube one because of the black bars that vanish.
Thanks for watching! Nah don't worry I'm sure the GameCube colored one is going to look awesome.
Thanks so much for this vid, I'm chasing quieter buttons on my Mini and am going to attempt this. If you had a chance to do it again and could be very accurate with your dimensions (lets say to tenth of mm), what do you think is the ideal height to aim for? Would you go as high as 1.5mm or somewhere in between? And am I right in seeing that you are measuring the 1mm from the top of the hollow tapered section?
Yes I would go for 1.5mm from the bottom of the solid part up, another thing I would add is to glue the membrane back on the buttons.
@ Appreciate the info, thanks! The glue is a good tip, I’ll re-add a drop of silicone seal to keep the buttons in place when I re-assemble.
Can I watch media in Dolby Vision?
How soon until the RP5+ with an upgraded chip?
As far as I understand there's no plans for a 5pro, after the 3 and 3+ they said they wouldn't be doing that anymore.
I have a question, I don't see most of the Nintendo game collections in Hyperspin, and I also don't see PlayStation games in Hyperspin. Do you know how to fix this?
Hyperspin is setup for arcade games, use retrobat for Nintendo and playstation.
@ is there any way i can view these games on hyperspin?
@@DarksolStuff you might be able to add them but I haven't done it.
Hello Folks. i'm new to the emulation consoles. Q. Does Retroid Pocket 5 comes with an OS out of the box? Q. If yes, Is it dual boot? Android and Linux?
It comes with android 13 and you can dual boot to a Linux OS from a micro SD card.
Gets a free device for "review".... I'm out.
That's unfortunate, well thanks for stopping by.
Great and comprehensive review!
Thank you 😁
Fantastic, man!!
Thank you! 😁
Hi Aish! Cool video 😀. I hope today is a good one for you.
Thank you and sorry I missed your comment, I hope you have a good one too!
Already got one! Well pre-ordered, my commute to work can't wait
Hope you enjoy it!
When is it available to buy mate
You can pre-order it now, it should start shipping soon.
@AishTalksTech thank-you
Super honest and down-to-earth review! 👍 I’m not a fan of the speakers, I hope they sound better in person, but I still pre-ordered one because the whole package is just too good to pass up. I hope they can iron out the software quirks over the next few weeks. Cheers!
Thanks for watching! The speakers sound fine in person, they're nothing special but also not something that takes anything away from the experience.
I'd delete the switch emulation section Nintendo has a new lawsuit for folks showcasing switch emulation
I appreciate it but from what I understand it's still in litigation so we don't know if something like that would even hold up in court.
Top Quality video!
My question is, when they release the final product with updates, would it be worth to get it over the Odin 2 purely for the OLED screen + price point? I really am on the fence on what to do, but I really want to run PS2 as best as I can and anything "above" (Wii for ex) is a plus
@@SlowpokeReads if you want the best PS2 experience the Odin 2 is going to be a better choice if you want to stay on Android, yes the screen is better on the rp5 but the Odin 2 is way more powerful.
I ordered one, I really just want something small and 4:3. I love my Switch and Steam Deck but I never take them anywhere, just too damn big. All I really wanna play is PS2 Survival Horror titles RE, Obscure stuff like that.
Sounds like a perfect fit for that.
“I can’t unsee it, and now neither can you.” Thanks a lot Aish
