The video was shot about 8 a.m. in the morning on a cool Fall day with the leaves on the hardwoods just beginning to flash their Autumn colors. Click the link b...
Savage Falls - Tennessee

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Savage Gulf Natural Area is Savage Falls. The ranger station/trail head is not far from the town of Gruetli-Laager, TN. Savage Creek is normally very dry during the summer and fall months causing the falls to dwindle to just a trickle. I wanted some shots of the falls with lots of water going over the top so I hiked up to the falls on an early spring ...

Good flying.. The A-4 looks great in the air.. I love the way you jettison the drop tanks.. LoL..
Great Video, thanks for sharing it.
In the history section it was hard to watch the loss of good men; of course the reenacting section show the excitement of the battle enjoyed the video LIKED and SUBSCRIBED.
Another tune learned from Dad.
One of my favs Dad taught me. :)
Dear ol' Dad laying it down.
I cring at some of the very young kids on the field "reenacting" some of these boys are only about 10. SAFETY guys!
Great video. Savage Falls is a beautiful waterfall that is an easy hike from the trail head. One of my favorite hiking destinations in Middle Tennessee.
I was there once :o
I love it guys. Even the phone!
The area in Smyrna Tn doesn't look anything like this.. It was nasty and bugs and flies were everywhere! I really feel like the Rutherford County should keep this Dam clean, lots of kids swim there, I just cant believe people really let their children go into this nasty water. Sorry to complain but I am so afraid that it could be harmful .
I live near and this area is not this bad. I can provide pictures too
In my humble opinion General Hood was most likely the most incompetent general the south had during the war.
He was good enough as a Division commander. He'd reached his level of incompetence when given an Army to run.
Why on earth are you drowning out the note of the Cayman, with that tacky house music? lol That car makes it's own "music!"
But this is only a small fraction of their nearly-500-piece car and bike collection. If you visit again 2-3 months later, you'll see different vehicles on display.
Do they still have the track days there? I've been wanting to go to one but don't know where to go lol thanks!
no respect for the fishermen that were their hours before you came
rripley44: Yes, Greeter is one of the best. I love the fact that it's seldom crowded and you're right, beautiful clear and COLD water. Have you gone for a swim yet? After filming the video, I took a dip and the cold will take your breath away. I never did warm up but glad I took the plunge. Thanks for looking and commenting. FB
Was at Greeter falls today and the water was clear and so refreshing .... a great place to see any time of the year :)
maybe by next year they will have it right
Great work! Very nice!
damn purdy video..............
A must see. the cumberland plateau is Tennessee's "other Mountains" . I'd suggest anyone wanting to see a truly amazing place, Visit the Stone Door, you will never forget it.
cool
@mike777meridian . . . LOL, I like that!
That''s the closest white men will get to hip hop dancing.
@Marshall Burkett: Thanks for viewing the video. The weather was in the 30's but these guys didn't seem to notice. As you can see, they love what they're doing and they do it well!
nice
@addict4musikk: thanks so much for your comments. Greeter is such a beautiful place and the Fall is my favorite time to be there. KP
I don't get it. John Bell Hood saw the disastrous Pickett's Charge at Gettysberg. Why on earth did he send his own men into a worse disaster exactly the same way: an open charge against a well-defended position. He should have been court-martiled for incompetence.
I don't think he saw Pickett's charge. He was in a field hospital at the time due to a wound he suffered the day before. But yeah, he should have known better. The ultimate irony is that Jeff Davis put Hood in command of the army of Tennessee because he wanted a commander who was more aggressive. Well, he sure got what he was seeking.
My great-great-great grandfather, Rev. Moses Sparks, fought in this battle. He was a soldier(don't know what his rank was at the time) in Company I of the 30th Alabama Infantry. He also fought at Vicksburg where he was paroled home but when Gen. Hood came across Alabama after being defeated at Atlanta, he rejoined his unit and participated in this battle at 16 years of age. He had 8 brothers who also served in the war. I'd love to travel to Franklin and see the battlesite and reenactment.
I doubt you will see this but I looked on the nps database and it said he entered and left as a private, hope this helps
I know we never do a good job thats why i quit reenacting. They are always planned and ran by idots.
Reenactment starts at 3:27
@tippmanproductions98 The young man in the video at 4:30 is in full confederate battle dress and is participating in the battle. You can see him more clearly later in the video as he advances with the troop as the confederates are charging the North's position.
At 4:30 is that a little kid in the field?
May I use this footage for my 150th anniversary of the Civil War/Emancipation Proclamation Project? A $2,500 scholarship is in grasp as I prepare for college. I am a Junior in my High School and my Class of 2014 is the only one that will compete around the nation. You can contact me through youtube so we can exchange information privately, thank you for the consideration! (:
Didn't have hay bales in Civil War, 4:15 Cars in background... c'mon guys...
In this particular battle, they dug 2-foot trenches and placed clapboard siding and beams taken from the nearby Carter’s Cotton Gin on top of the berm.
I dont know about Hood and Johnston, but Bragg was a total dumbass, Forrest might have been a better commander, only if Jefferson could see that
I am awaiting confirmation from Tn that Winstead Hill was owned land by my ancestors. Grandpa was 8th generation Winstead upon arrival in Lancaster County, Va in 1671. Moved to Tn in early 1800's, Hawkins County at that time. Thanks for the video of our sacred history. It means that much more to me now, Thank you !!
Such a stunning waterfall!
@ictennessee Thanks for your comments and I appreciate your taking the time to view it /fb
