Welcome to the North Bucks Narrow Gauge Railway created and operated by Alan Regan. In May 2023 RAILWAY MODELLER visited the line to take photographs for an article included in the August 2023 edition of the magazine. This is the video of the 16mm Association official Annual General Meeting where the Chairman (Alan Finch) and officers report to the Membership, and where the Membership can nominate and appoint people to the Board. As reported there are various vacancies for important Association roles and members are urged to consider volunteering.
2024 National Garden Railway Show promotion

The Peterborough Arena, home of the National Garden Railway Show for over 10 years is closing for re-development, so the 2024 show will be at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, on Saturday 27th April 2024. Online tickets will be available from December 2023. Full details of the 2024 show will be on the dedicated website www.nationalgardenrailwayshow.org.uk as they become available.

Hi, who would i need to contact to get a loco i recently purchased boiler and steam tested? I drive so being local isn't really an issue. I live in Lincolnshire.

Hullo. Do many individuals build permanent 16mm/SM32 live steam indoor layouts to finescale standards; complete with railway furniture, scenery, prototypical running etc? It seems, to me, to be a scale that owes itself to this form of modelling yet I rarely ever see people model 16mm/SM32 anywhere other than the garden. When I'm a little older, with a place of my own and with a bit more financial security, I'd love to build a permanent indoor layout depicting a Welsh narrow gauge scene. Alas, until then....
There are some, certainly - though as you say outdoor operation would be the most commonly seen. Space can be an issue for 16mm indoors, though some amazing compact layouts do exist. Two pointers for investigation would be to our modular layout group (facebook.com/groups/223143094789671), as a good way into indoor layouts without having to find the space for a whole layout yourself! And to the Kent and North Wales Light Railway (facebook.com/kandnwlr) as a particularly stunning example of what you're thinking about.
Just would like to ask, where did you get these locomotives from? I'm thinking of building my own railway img in my garden.
Hi Oliver, most of the locos in the video are from Roundhouse Engineering and Accucraft, but our members do run a whole range of different manufacturers' locos - or indeed ones they have built themselves.
