I served for 20 years, and I agree a lot of what the DOD does is critically important, including WPAFB. Here is my thing though, in 20 years not a single thing promised by senior leadership was delivered on time or on budget, literally not even one of those 2, and really we should be both on time and on budget for most things. Every weapon system, delayed and over budget. Every new IT system, delayed and over budget. Even internal administrative policy changes were over due and released in an inherently broken state. If the DOD really is important to Congress and not just a way for politicians to pander to a specific audience, when is someone going to start taking the fraud and incompetence at the senior most levels of the DOD seriously?
