(19.71) 18.75 17.25 17.97 (16.03) Im very disappointed at my most recent comp average. My fingers were so cold from the venue and i forgot to bring the hand warmers so i couldn’t perform my best. Now that i am in a controlled environment (at home) i wanted to record myself to see how well i could do. I’m glad i can still cube relatively ok! It’s a relief i’m not losing skills!

    Hi Claire, your times seem similar to mine, to some degree--most in the low 20s, but with occasional last layer flubs that give us 30+ 😞solves. But one big difference...! A sub-20 in comp still eludes me. When the kid in the background yells out "I got a sub-20!", you just casually spike a 19.88. 🙂 Here's my latest cstimer session of around 1500 solves: 15+ 146 <20 20+ 992 <25 25+ 385 <30 30+ 56 Guess I need to work on my OLL/PLL accuracy (and my F2L look-ahead, and...)

    • @clairekraft4892
      @clairekraft4892 10 месяцев назад

      Hey Dean, looks like you’re putting in the work with those 1500 solves. I like how systematic and analytical you are in the training process. I need to learn the full oll and pll. Also i dont know the proper f2l, kind of just made them up. So im sure i could be a lot more efficient after learning these.

    • @deanm66
      @deanm66 10 месяцев назад

      @@clairekraft4892 well, those 1500 solves are over some number of weeks or months (not even sure how long), not a single sitting session, lol. I do know full OLL and PLL, so that benefits me, but I'm less fluid than you, as my recognition after each step isn't seamless. I'm shooting for a sub-18 average, and I figure that'll be close to my peak, but I bet you'll be sub-18 way before me, and it won't be your peak.

  • @emilyau8023
    @emilyau8023 Год назад

    I chose the Google one cause I'm doing it for 100% free through The American Dream Academy program. People can also audit the course for free and apply for financial aid which will give you it for free. So, I don't agree that it's predatory. It really just takes a person to be thorough to find these benefits. I'm also the type to be independent. I don't need positive affirmation or feedback when I complete something and I don't really care for grading other's work. I graduated university and I never want to go through that setting again, so bring on the self-study haha. I also need to say that influencers will always lie for money, but that's not Googles fault. People with critical thinking skills should know that a cert will not give them a job and a majority of people who do the research know that it's not going to immediately give them a job.

    I think I can give you one tip. Try practice doing the cross without thinking about it. Same for F2l. In f2l during that time you can look Ahead

    • @clairekraft4892
      @clairekraft4892 Год назад

      Thanks for the tip! I agree with your assessment. I think my F2L algs are improper. I need to first learn the proper algs then do look ahead for just the cross. After, i can do lookahead with the cross and F2L.

    this lady sounds very honest and giving an honest appraisal of the google data analytics certificate. There are so many videos that advertise the program I think I got taken. It really doesn't help getting a job. The coverage of the various tools like tableau, sql, excel is seriously inadequate. I wish this video was out years ago, or at least before I did the program a year ago.

  • @samguy7209
    @samguy7209 Год назад

    Thank you for the review. This is the best review I have seen. I am already in the IT industry and thought about these but something felt off about them, especially the heavy marketing of Google Data analytics cert. I think these are an affordable for people who are already in the IT industry to pivot slowly into Data analysis and Data science (if they have the math behind it). It tacky to believe that these certs alone will get you the job. Especially now a days with the layoffs and competition from people wanting to get into something to work from home. These certifications are a supplementary addition at best.

  • @AdvocateOfJamaica
    @AdvocateOfJamaica Год назад

    Would getting an advanced degree (like say a masters in analytics) be more worth it in terms of learning the topics covered in the certificates more in depth?

    • @DeviousCris

      If you want to be a Data Scientist, yes. As a data analyst, no. A portfolio showcasing skills helps the most. Demonstrating skills in excel, sql, python, and “Easy to understand” visualizations.
