@@excel_ladz Hi, I was working my way through your formulas, copying them on paper and entering the formulas onto my spreadsheet. Had loads of problems, my errors in copying, syntax differences etc. I did download it but got a Macro warning which I couldn't over-ride that so couldn't use it. I don't know if that is your protection. I did join partly but then it was £19. I don't mind paying if I can download it and it works, cheers :)

@@excel_ladz Yes I am working on it myself but really slow progress. I'm doing it for a Table Tennis league which I want automated. I've made the cards okay but want the captains to be able to print them off for their particular team with date & opponents so all they have to do is fill in the players on the night, and need to do an averages sheet too. I really want to do a Ratings program too. The hardest problem so far is the ratings but the fixtures have me baffled too.

The fixtures Tab cell C16. Clearly it works in yours when you pressed enter, but mine said I entered too many arguments. The double nested IF statements I think caused me the problem but not you 😅

Thank you, lad 😃 I agree with your point, but for that result to come up means that there is either an error in your model or you're not running enough simulations. For a single simulation, the RAND() function randomises it according to the certain probability distribution you choose. However, after running thousands of these trials, the average of the results converge to the true probabilities. In most of my models I do at least 1,000 simulations. If I could, I would do 100,000! With 1,000 simulations, the variance is usually around 1-1.5% every "batch" of simulations". Meaning a team could go from a 50% chance of winning to a 51.1% chance of winning with a refresh. Anything more than 2% is too volatile, and you should run more simulations or look for an error in your model 👍 I hope that helps mate 🔥

Hi mate! While the other model has player stats, because of that, it can be quite volatile. Especially at the start of the season when movements in each team's roster can change a player's role and influence on their team without it being fully captured by the data. This model is an alternative that considers the team's strength as a whole throughout the season so far. As a result though, it does miss out on player ins & outs 👍

Hi mate! Apologies, this was a typo in the model while I was making the video. I've explained it in a comment, which I'll copy and paste here: Hi lads! Unfortunately, there was an error when I typed in the formula under the 'Player' header in the 'Player Working' worksheet. The formula is all right, until the last ROWS part of the formula. This should actually look like: 'Raw Player Stats'$E$3:E3))) Rather than: 'Raw Player Stats'$E$3:E4))) That is why the first player in every team is missing, because in the video I mistakenly put E4 instead of E3. So sorry for the confusion lads, Let me know if this fixes this problem 💪

I actually built the model using Excel on a Mac, so there's definitely a solution 👍 Have a look at the 'Currency Converter' video on my channel, where I run through how to establish a Power Query on a Mac. Instead of using the currency website, I used Basketball Reference 😃

G'day, lad! Unfortunately, the Power Query process is different for not only your version of Excel but also the computer you are working on. I build the models using Excel for Mac, which has a very different process to Windows computers (the majority). As a result, I don't include the portion of the video where I bring the data in, as for 95% of users it'd be a waste of time. If you're struggling with creating a Power Query, I suggest watching some tutorials on RUclips 👍

hey mate, in the 'Player" header in Player Working worksheet, please change the ROWS to $E$3:E3 instead of $E$3:E4 (according to the model)

Results using this model since week 4: Week 4- ML 56.25%, Spread 62.5%, and O/U 56.3%. Week 5- ML 57.14%, Spread 50%, O/U 42.86%, Week 6- ML 78.57%, Spread 64.29%, O/U 50%, Week 7- ML 73.33%, Spread 46.67%, O/U 46.67%, Week 8- ML 62.5%, Spread 62.5%, O/U 31.25%, Week 9- ML 87.5%, Spread 43.75%, O/U 43.75%. This is the percentage for the moneyline (ML), spread and over/under (O/U) being accurate. Overall ML 69.22%, Spread 54.95%, O/U 45.14%. When using this keep in mind this accounts for the last 12 games, currently it still considering 2 games from last season and this doesn't help the accuracy, as well as this does not account for injuries, such that Tua from Dolphins got hurt and was out for 4 weeks, so now that he returns the dolphins potential to win will be greater than what the math will show since the 4 weeks he was out the Dolphins stats were abysmal. O/U seems to favor the under which is tough since the NFL is trying to get more teams to score more points so be cautious betting on this. ML has been close to 70% and this can provide some good ROI if you have some football knowledge to go along with the betting. Using this model and the UFC model he produced have made some of my own tweaks with knowledge of the sports and some data points on the way and have seen good ROI.

Hi mate, thanks for watching 👍 In the Fixtures Data worksheet, the games that have already been played are sorted into Winner and Loser. For the games that haven't been sorted yet, they're sorted into Away and Home. Because the table I built in the dashboard is only interested in games that haven't already been played, it ignores the instances where the winning team is sorted into the Away column. I hope that helps lad.
