comma 3x on 11th gen accord (2023+)

I open up the shroud and give an off the cuff explanation on how a comma 3x connects to a 2023 honda accord. I cant post links because of youtube but there is a "Honda Bosch-C" guide on github under the commaai/openpilot repo

do you use other fork like sunnypilot or frogpilot?
Fellow Washingtonian comma user :D
I too have a Honda accord 2024 and it’s been brutal not using it since my 2016 civic. Do you have a purchase link?
@AIExplainsThePowerOfGodsLove are you looking for the comma or the harness? You can reach out to me on discord for harnesses @tomn8104
What connector did you end up swapping with? I had the Comma 3 in my 2016 civic but have not been able to connect to my 2024 accord.
@AIExplainsThePowerOfGodsLove we've been calling the harness a bosch c. It's not for sale on the comma store currently but I've written a guide on how to build one yourself. I can't paste links to RUclips but github com/commaai/openpilot/wiki/Honda-Bosch%E2%80%90C Is the guide Also I have some for sale, you can message me on discord if you're interested my name is tomn8104 there
lol Police ooop not police
On their site it said something like on this car it can’t take tight turns . Do you know what they meant by that or have you run into that problem?
@xingli123 it won't do 90 degree turns in the city, it does most (probably close to 99%) of my highway driving for me but doesn't have enough torque for low speed sharp turns and I usually handle the turns in a city scenario
On commas website, the 2023 accord hybrid is not listed as compatible but I guess from your video it is. Do you know if the 2024 is compatible and 2025 will be? Thank you
2023 is the start of the 11th gen. I'm pretty sure 2024 and 2025 will work. I think people are running 2024 accords right now. Most new honda cars just require porting values pulled from the car which is simple. Right now the 11th gen isn't supported with stock openpilot- you need to use forks that support the 11th gen accord/other current gen honda cars until it's merged to mainline. The harness isn't on comma's official website but you can make your own or buy one from a community member
@@tomn8104 Do you know if the new crv hybrids are similar to new accords? Meaning 2024 and 2025 should also be compatible? Thanks for your reply!
@akhilpenmetcha278 newer crvs in the US have been working pretty easily. I know of people with 23 and 24 crvs running openpilot. Haven't seen anyone own a 25 yet but I assume it'll be on the same generation and no major changes, it might just need a car port which should take about half an hour
Thank you so much ! This is lifesavonh. I was struggling to do this
How much of your view does that thing take up while driving lol Looks like it would create some legal trouble (at least where I live in Australia)
It doesn't take up much in my opinion and hasn't been a hindrance, a portion of it is actually behind my mirror. It might block out some things at a distance but if you are paying attention as you drive you should be able to know things that pass behind it and visibility up close to the car shouldn't be impaired. Some people mount their comma even higher or away from the center of the car.
Are you using the stock adaptive cruise control (ACC) or does the C3 replace the longitudinal with Openpilot/fork? if so How does it fare? My 2018 accord stock ACC tends to brake out of nowhere when passing cars on my sides....
I'm using stock ACC. bosch cruise control is remarkably smooth at least on this gen. It's possible to use c3 long control but I've not heard the best about it. I enjoy stock long too much to use something else. It is probably not the most amount of work to get it running
I am getting the "Can Error: Check Connections" in addition to the dashboard errors in my 23 accord about LKA, CC etc. Did you get the same errors at the boot up? Any suggestions?
If the error only occurs when you attempt to plug in the comma, I believe that is because your harness is wired incorrectly or is incomplete.. did you make the harness yourself and do you have pictures of the harness? Someone who attempted to make one got similar errors and when I sent them one of my harnesses the errors resolved
@@tomn8104 Yes, I made the harness cable myself and I tested continuity across all connections which was good. I get no dashboard if the harness and harness box are connected and leave the comma 3x USB-C unplugged. The errors show up only after the USB-C from Comma 3x is connected to the harness box. Is there a way to contact you via discord or email?
@@waqasakhta1 yea I'm tomn8104 on discord
@waqasakhta1 I wired my dev harness backwards by accident at first and got the same errors.
@BabyHamsta yea I looked at his harness and it was indeed backwards, I'll add it to the wiki that is a known error
Did you install this yourself? Do you have any suggestions where I might find an installer either in the Las Vegas or greater LA area? I don’t think I want to take on the task of installing it myself.
Yea I installed it myself. It's a very easy install relatively speaking and have a video for pulling off the shroud on my channel which is about the only thing you need to do other than mounting the comma and connecting the plugs. You should only need a trim removal tool or a screwdriver if you're careful. There's also a wiki page with pictures and a text explanation
I don't know anyone in the la area.. anyone who can install a homelink mirror can probably do this which is about as simple. You do need to install the mount which takes 2 days to cure onto the windshield before you can use the comma. Technically it can cure in less than 2 days if it's hot
Nice! I can't wait to put it in my Accord! BTW isn't there a quite mode toggle in the settings to stop those engagement chimes?
I've searched over the settings several times and have not seen a quiet mode toggle for openpilot. I believe a lot of forks have a toggle though. There's not much fork support yet because most support for this gen of honda cars isn't in mainline openpilot yet I believe.
A community member got sunnypilot working, and braking does not cause the engagement chimes. It's a lot smoother
@@tomn8104 Still running sunnypilot? Is it your preference?
@@Eutski yup, I like it a lot more
