I witnessed this exact solo couple a years back in Manchester UK. Needless to say, my mind was blown into a thousand pieces. I even got to meet Gus G at the end of the gig. Firewind opened up for my favourite band Queensryche.
Surprises me that nobody has tried to copy this entrance. Not the whole lightning thing,but the the part where the stage goes black and the light focus purely on him,than start with the rock,rock rock,Chant. Might need 4 paid guys in the audience to take the cue. But still would've been one helluva opening,if you got the right song-

Yep. The coolest part is that Tony Fields improvised most of his stage presence including slamming his leg at the start which they kept in the movie, and the camera angle is great. The acrobatics weren't in the script either.

The lip synch was terrible, but damn this movie was cool back in the day. Still love it.
The biggest question is how he ended up in this movie, because he were an acrobatic dancer for Michael Jackson. He were not a metal head at all, but improvised this role quite well. Lip sync is bad, but no one cares. :)
