The THING an American roadside attraction
Просмотров 440Год назад
The THING roadside attraction in Arizona just outside of Vail on I10. It is a fuel stop with a souvenir store, but mostly a museum about The THING. The museum tells a story and a big what if scenario about the history of our planet. It is Five bucks for a person and it has some entertainment value. It doesn’t take a lot of time so worth taking a break during a road-trip and checking it out. #th...

Do you put loc-tite on those studs?
what size are those cragars and tires?
Fronts are 15x7 with 235/60r15. The rears are 15x10 with 295/50r15
what if the washer broke
are you talking about the washer between the two bolt together parts of the pump?
Great video man ! Helped me out so much with mine, I have a 96 s10!
Glad it helped! Good luck with future projects
Thanks for the video.
Simple and clean walk through of the process. This is better than some of the other videos out there. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Very well explained video thanks!
Weird how this popped up on my recommendations, I have driven past that place a few times and always wondered what was in there. Not at all what I was expecting, I think the last time I drove past there was over 20 years ago I wonder if it’s the same thing it was back then. Anyway great video. Liked and subscribed.
That place is cool!
was that a White Camaro ? or firebird
White Camaro
@@bonesaw55 it looks almost like the Camaro I sold to @vicegripgarage that was the Barn find Camaro video
If the rod was going bad would it make noise when you put it in drive and put your foot on the gas because that's what mine doing when its in park it's okay soon as I put it in drive and pull off and give it gas it make noise but if I just let it easy on its own it don't make no noise only when I hit the gas
Step one is the most important! I’m bouta go through this aswell my wheel hub bearing snapped and seized to the spindle so time to drop this mf !
I appreciate you posting this video. Thank you
Awesome video! Thanks for the info!
No problem, glad it was helpful.
Ty
…….I hate drilling holes in the wrong spot. We’ve ALL done it.
Yup, I just say it is to make the Jeep lighter haha
Great video man.
Thank you. I appreciate the feed back.
That’s so cool I just got done with my hand truck rims out of zinc and got them to a shine thay look like aluminum
Awesome. Glad you were able to get the shine you wanted
Great video
boring video , terrible video
Does it matter if you bring gas tank close to mechanical fuel pump than where it should be stock. Will fuel pressure be different than where stock gas tank is at stock placement. Does psi get greater or not.
There will be no pressure issues. The pressure from a mechanical pump is only on the outlet so having the tank closer to the pump won’t increase the pressure. Good luck with your project
Im doing a quadrajet to edelbrock conversion on a stock intake my spacer has 4 hex bolts that mount it to the intake i found that will not work unless it is on an aluminum intake do i just screw the studs into the intake and mount the spacer and carb that way
So the front bolt holes should line up and you put your carb studs in the there on the back the. Spacer should have hex holes, those will face down and put the bolts so the head is captured by the spacer and threads up. That will be your new carb mounting point. The outer rear holes will then bolt to the intake. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project
Why didn't you anti seize the threads of the ball joints
Thank you for the installation video mate
Thank you for the view
Thanx for your video.
Great Vid. Ty. Did you make a follow up for the install? How to find tdc? So you don’t have to compress the pump to line up the bolts.
I did not make a follow up for TDC but in the future
Thanks mate, good video.
Thank you
very good video my brother i cant believe you dont have any comments wooooow..
Whats the tire specs
The rims at 15x10 with 295/50r15 tires
Got the same wheels on my 72 Cutlass love the look.
Is that old boxers you are using
Yup. They were washed before becoming garage rags.
Nice video do The wheels require long studs to fit
No, they are stock length studs on a 1970 cutlass with a BOP 8.2 rear diff and stock front disc brakes
@@bonesaw55 I have a 71 I just bought some cravers 15 inch with ss caps and it came with long lug nuts and the stud barley come through
@@jayg1358 if it is the long lug nuts they go through the opening in the wheels and still gets good engagement on the studs. Totally safe
@@bonesaw55 Thanks for the response I went ahead and bought some 2.78 inch studs and then bought the long nuts but open ended

Fuel and oil does NOT look like a milkshake. You have some bad information in this video. Fuel will simply thin the oil down and cause an overfill issue when checking the oil on the dipstick.
When my fuel pump took a dump, the 10W-40 oil came out like pee when I went to drain the oil.
Is it really taking a break if you are still following the directions?
Probably not. I should have drank a whole six pack follow them to a T
I have some of these rims have no Idea what to do with them..
Clean them up and sell them, there are always people looking for a set. Or put them away for a rainy day when you find the perfect project to put them on
BONESAW my father in law was really cars we just found boxes of wire rims.
@@TheMrspopRocks you have the spoke Cragars?
@@Sluna773 I have all kinds of stuff. Just found spoke western something rims.
@@TheMrspopRocks Are they similar to this link? ruclips.net/video/PM04Uq5gtNo/видео.html If so, looking to sell?
I've got a set of field wheels (found in a field of old junk). They are cleaning up nicely, I love Mother's. 13 inch 4 lug Cragar SS. Trying to see how centercaps are supposed to fit (if I can find some for 13's). I can get caps for a 14 , maybe make them work.
Hope they clean up they way you want and would like to see them on your project
@@bonesaw55 Thanks. It's a 1968 Corolla. I got it for $300 back in 1988, put a battery and brakes, tires on it. My first car. I thought to myself, I'll just drive it til I find somthing better. Still driving it. She's due for a little spruce up after 50 years as a daily, I've put many hundreds of thousands of miles on it. Spent a long time gathering parts and built a complete new engine inside and out a couple of years ago. It surprisingly peppy for it's size, about 66 cu. in. 75 hp stock. Car only weighs 1500 lbs, 4:22 rear acts like a posi, good torque ( I've twisted a few u-joints and broke one of the bolts keeping the rear centered on the leaf springs) 4 speed. I've tinkered with it over the years but putting it mostly back to stock now. Turns out it's a first generation (KE10), first model Corolla introduced in the US. They were late in the year when they started and only had 6 months, sold 7,242. I'll try to stop typing now but you get a sub for the long story!
Nice job! Cragar's are the best but you put some cheap tires on them!
Clark Griswold I did. There aren’t a lot of options for the rears since they are 295’s. They do make good smoke for burnouts though
Random question, do you know if 1977 Cadillac have fuel push rod
Hit it with glass cleaner after all that and it really has a shine
Allen Ball cool cool. Thanks for the tip and I will give that a shot
Can’t wait too see more!
What’s the rim size? 15x8?
Sp33dy TuRbO the rears I am cleaning are 15x10 with a 295 wide tire
@@bonesaw55 question I have a 79 do camino I'm going to put 15x8 all around will it work?? With out rubing
Sp33dy TuRbO they should. Do 4” backspace and 235/60r15 tires and will look great. Hope to see some vids of it
BONESAW will do!! Thanks! Keep posting videos
turtle wax is good to leave it on while you do all the rims. then clean them
Rudy Flores cool thanks for the tip many. I will try it
After watching this, I've learned to clean my toilet properly.
Jerk Jiggler glad you got some value out of it
I picked a set of these up for free the other day
myakka fuel nice, that is a good score. Any particular project you are putting them on?
Ya. I'm restoring a 66 bug with track mendeola suspension, porsche 944 parts. 2.5l dohc subi engine, and much more!!
myakka fuel very cool. Sounds like an amazing project and hope to see some videos of it
