I might be the only one from my country who recognized the similarities upon seeing the movie; MGS isn't popular in India.

It's funny how many people can't tell the difference between inspiration and a ripoff. A ripoff is where you have little to zero innovation and copy something without ANY originality whatsoever. You certainly don't see Snake Plisken fighting giant robots, a Psycho Mantis, men on fire, a bisexual vampire, sneaking around smaller metal gears, him being a clone of a legendary soldier and having multiple "brothers", etc.
