    I’m epileptic and I’m currently 16 years. I plan on getting a sd for the future mainly for safety reasons but also because I’ve been trapped inside all my life because of my family worrying lots

      @groot3737 it ended up being to heavy and had issues with it pinching me when I would transfer I got a rigid fram tilite aero t as a replacement and I've loved it so far

      @@denali_gsdservicedog7134 I was considering a rigid like the Aero T, but I’m not sure how it would work with my mom’s Chevy Blazer. I mean, I like TiLite’s rigids (they’re the only ones that’ll let me get flip down push handles on the HD version), it’s the whole transport thing.

    what are your suggestions after my dog gets her x-rays and such for mobility she is a great Dane and is already trained for psychiatric work but still working on it i am 140 pounds and she is 62 pounds she is 5 months old currently i dont know if there is a spacific age that mobility work should start or if i should wait until she is fully grown and just focus on psychiatric work until then

    • @denali_gsdservicedog7134
      @denali_gsdservicedog7134 4 месяца назад

      @cjthecrackheadcat mobility shouldn't start till all growth plates are closed usually around 18 months to 2 years old. You can start teaching positions before then but any weight bearing should wait till they are old enough and cleared my xrays at a vet

      @denali_gsdservicedog7134 thank you ive been searching everywhere for an answer to that even looked it up on google and all it said is it has to be 60 pounds or more per 100 pounds of body weight

    Omg thank you so much for this video!!!! I am just starting to vest training my 1 year old labrador retriever pup... We have a solid foundation of the basics and a few more moves... I am starting super slow with the vest so that she knows when the vest goes on she feels like she is a rockstar. I absolutely love love my e collar. I barely use it anymore but sometimes puppy brain pops in and a vibrate works perfect .. excited to start with her .she is so smart that she picks up work easily... I come from 45+ years of training horses so she is new to me .. I have had lots of pets but she is my first service dog .. I have severe lupus and walking and moving is getting so hard. Nice to see others work with their fur babies.... Cheers from Canada!❤❤❤❤

    Great video! My Rottweiler is happily and easily excited, but it’s rare now as he’s left most of that behind with training and time. Great job patiently and clearly helping the other handler, we need more of your great attitude in the SD community. Also, I love how pigmented your eyeshadow is, do you remember what it was?😊

    I have given up on our local Petco, Barons been attacked multiple times. I have no issue with pets in training learning who are excited and still learning. The issue is when people bring in dangerously aggressive dogs. They always say “we’re socializing him!” So, you know he’s aggressive, and you’re using other innocent dogs to be your “training”? Seriously? 😑

    I’m sorry but I think choke collars are very abusive same with prong collars it’s just very cruel there not a thing there a pet they don’t deserve this maybe if people train and love there dogs they won’t need horrible things like choke collars and prong collars I’m so glad u brought up the fact it’s abusive to a degree thankyou your the nicest sd Iv saw and u seem to actually love your dog not as a tool but as a family member thankyou

    Good video, so glad you're helping others train! Also, please make sure the prongs on your collar are on the top of their neck, if they are on the throat area it can cause major damage. I use prong collars, so no hate, but I have worked with a lot of professional trainers for fun.

    I know this was from a year ago, but do you know how I can train my 7 month old to be trustful off leash? I’ve tried so hard and for so long and she comes when the long lead is on, but as soon as I take it off, she gets a false confidence and bolts to the neighbors house to look for the dog over there. I’m afraid she’ll eventually follow some car and never come back! Advice would be helpful! And yes, we do regular training with chicken treats, she just chooses the chance of playing with him then listening to me though I know she understands what I’m saying. They play together once or twice a week when he’s out.

      Ecollar train teach them that the sensation means to come or to pay attention to you. Lots of videos on upstatek9academy that teaches the conditioning. Do not cheap out dogtra and mini educators are the only ecollars I suggest and use.

    • @doggo8218
      @doggo8218 3 года назад

      Ok so I'm not completely sure, (still researching), however I think you would need to get to your doctor, as therapists can't prescribe medical equipment/service dogs But if you're nervous, try writing down some basic info about SD, and how one could help you. ESA's are always a great option, however they cant go everywhere with you, but could help you at home. :)

    Lol I love this I went to a service dog meet up in London with my friends we saw a fake and that is really rare in England so it was weird it was growling and being bad I have a German shepherd service dog called paws so ya he is a psychiatric service under the ada law he is fully trained but I am still training him he knows all of is psychiatric tasks but I want to train hi like tricks like jump dance and stuff like that
