PLEASE DO NOT DO 3/4 OF THESE TIPS! these could potentially damage your knives and scissors and possibly yourself. A dull blade is more dangerous than a sharp one! I write this as a sharpening hobbyist with countless hours sharpening and maintaining hundreds of blades from knives, scissors, axes from Kitchens, Craft supplies to gardening equipment. Please do not damage your tools by following any of these examples except the 3rd one go to a thrift store and buy a mug or plate that has the flatest bottom and a cheap knife to practice on 1) DO NOT DO THIS toothpaste and rubbing the edge of the scissors on a glass bottle will dull them. You didn't even try to really cut the ribbon in the first attempt! you twisted and rolled your wrist to avoid cutting the ribbon. On the second or 3rd snip you miss the ribbon completely. 2) To sharpen anything you need to use something harder than what you want sharp to remove metal. your stainless steel scrubber is TOO SOFT to sharpen any quality knife steel. The most it might do is remove some burs but I doubt that even. You attempted to make this look like it works by using weird flicking motions and just trying to PUSH the blade through without a slicing motion.. while the second attempt you pulled the edge across the paper from base to tip while pushing THIS IS HOW YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CUT 3) You can use the bottom of a plate or mug, you do not need the salt or oil. This is called honing while it can sharpen a dull blade it will take a LONG time. This method is to maintain an already sharp edge. However this will do in a pinch 4) DO NOT USE THIS METHOD SHARPEN SCISSORS! Look a edge of a pair of scissors the one side it flat while the other is ground at an angle. where they meet is the edge and for scissor to work properly you need the two flat side to meet and that is what cuts. Using this method will give you an edge with two angles and the scissors will not cut because there will be a gap when they try to meet THIS WILL DESTORY SCISSORS!! In the "dull" demonstration The scissor's blades are being separated but pulling with the thumb and pushed in the opposite direction with the fingers and because of the screw connecting the two blades this create a fulcrum point and the causes a gap to appear between the blade and will just fold the material instead of cut. On the "sharp" demonstration the are just reversing, pulling with the fingers and pushing with the thumb which will close force the edges together tighter and cut better. Not to mention they are cutting the paper towel at the fold which is not making the material MORE rigid and easier to cut.

Most of the "hacks" shown in this video are not working or stupid. Some of them are executed in a very untidy manner. Also, the tattoos made the fingers look dirty. It was baffling to watch cleaning hacks done by dirty hands. I had to pause to see it was tattoo not dirt!
