Als kind mocht ik soms meehelpen in de pijpenmakerij van mijn vader. Het is een prachtig ambachtelijk beroep. Fijn dat Stinkend er nog steeds is.

Wonderful video. An organ that I'm rebuilding for my home has Stinkens pipes.

We used these pipes in the building of our pipe organs... Low air pressure & tonal quality exceeded being superb

When my church signed the contract for a new Rodgers combination organ in 1986 seventeen ranks of real pipework were built/supplied by Stinkens. All the metal pipes were Stinkens and the wooden flutes where built by Rodgers out of solid walnut. Magnificent sound to this day.

Lawrence Krupp Rodgers did not make wooden pipes, they were also made by a supplier, usually Laukhuff.

I'm working with a large set of ranks of pipes made by Stinkens back in the mid 1960's. They are the finest pipes I've had the pleasure to work with over the course of a career that stretches a solid 33 year period. The alloys are rich in the expensive metal-tin and, where appropriate, the thickness of the metal is more than generous. In spite of building large numbers of pipes for various builders over a long period of time, the high degree of craftsmanship has not waned. I bought new metal flues and reeds from Stinkens about the year 2000 and was very favourably impressed. The unique system of wrapping the pipes back then was brilliant and greatly assisted the quick identification of the various ranks neatly packed into their shipping boxes. Continued success to the pipebuilders at J. Stinkens!
