    Why are you encouraging heel sinkage ? Thanks

    • @peterpeersfarrier2819
      @peterpeersfarrier2819 4 года назад

      Garry Matthews hi sorry only just seen this. In some cases when the horses are working on a surface an injury on the limb can be helped by supporting the injured side allowing the shoe to sit on top of a surface. Then you are able to relieve to good side allow it to sink in to the surface which can even up and relieve the injury. I also use the same method to rebalance a distorted hoof capsule with the same effect. Of cause this will not work on level hard surface. Hope this explains enough

    When you record the videos inside the shop the details are easily seen. The sun on the back and the shadow on the front makes it much more difficult to see the way you do things. It's a great and very useful video. Congratulations.

    I have so many questions; Does this change the profile of the shoe to be a reverse wedge? Do you have to alter your trim to fit this modification effectively? Does the extra purchase created by the modification cause any concerns to soft tissues?

    • @peterpeersfarrier2819
      @peterpeersfarrier2819 4 года назад

      The modification is to ease tension on the deep flexor tendon. The toe wear shows the horse is struggling in movement. the roll of the toe speeds up breakover so the toe is able to roll out at any position of the toe. The video shows that the foot still wants to land toe first at the beginning but slowly shows the tension starting to ease with each stride rolling in and out. The feet are trimmed normally but the breakover is slightly trimmed when the shoe is fitted. Not sure what you mean with the last question on purchase they are designed to ease soft tissue damage without altering hoof angles freeing up movement on and off a surface especially with a wide toe with no sole pressure. Hope this answers some of your questions

    When would you use this shoe? What type of case would make you decide that?

    • @peterpeersfarrier2819
      @peterpeersfarrier2819 5 лет назад

      jimbo hi this shoe is mostly used to support the deep flexor tendons.on this horse it was used to help recover a check ligament injury. It will only work in conjunction with working on a surface ie sand, sand /rubber or sand fibre. It can be used for navicular cases where the horse will not cope with frog pressure. Making the bars of the foot for support. And can be used on weak heels again supports and protects the heels hope this explains enough
