January 31, 2025 Flight at Tanna Camera: DJI OSMO ACTION5 PRO (4K30fps, ultra-wide angle) The outline is clear, the flight of the hang glider is followed, and the scenery in the background is also clearly captured. Mt. Fuji in the distance is also beautiful. The angle from the wingtip in the second half was shot with a GoPro Session 5 (4K). #djiaction5pro #hanggliding #hangglider #goprosession

      Thank you for watching the video. On this day, the lift zone was on the southern slope in the turning scene in the latter half. It is about 1.5 km from the hang glider's takeoff point to the southern slope. It had lost altitude on the way there and was unable to catch the ascending wind. On the other hand, the paraglider's takeoff point was near the southern slope, so it was able to get on the lift zone and rise. At around 1 minute and 8 seconds, you can see a small paraglider rising in the distance.

      This is a video of the takeoff and landing of our friends on the day of the flight. ruclips.net/video/u-l2YTDFyro/видео.html None of them were able to top out and had to land. However, the last fixed-wing glider took off from a hang area 40km away and arrived in 2 hours and 40 minutes. It had apparently gained an altitude of 3,134m above sea level. Everyone was amazed by this.

      The Tanna Area is the area around the Tanna Basin in Kannami Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The sounds heard during flight are those generated by the variometer.

      Thank you for your comment. Many of the gliders in this video are made by Wills Wing. They cost about $5,000 to $10,000. However, if you buy a used one, you can start from about $1,000. I don't know the hang glider situation in your country, so please search on Google.

    I like how you're pulling lots of speed for landing; maintaining that as you move to uprights will give you easy landings to die for.

    Awesome shots! Nice flying. You could get on the uprights sooner, and maintain speed earlier on landing, that way you're not trying to adjust your hands when you should be trying to time the flare correctly.

    • @skylinecityhiacesurf
      @skylinecityhiacesurf 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much for your wonderful comments and advice. When landing, I changed my grip to the upright position, and then changed my grip to the upper position several times. This is done to create a flare effect. This behavior has become a habit. Next time, I'll switch to the upright position a little earlier so I can flare smoothly.

      @@skylinecityhiacesurf You're a super-competent flyer and you obviously have no worries about your landings, but that extra ten seconds with an upright body, hands high on the uprights, maintaining good speed, will iron out any instability that COULD arise. Thanks for the upload again!

      Thank you for your comment. The price of a hang glider is roughly the price of a small car. In addition, a hang glider license fee is required. Unfortunately, I don't know the cost in your country. For example, in Indonesia, there were the following sites. indonesianhanggliding.org

      Thank you for your comment. It flies in the Tanna area of Japan. This area is an area where you cannot fly unless you have a certain level of skill. All have pilot licenses. Therefore, it will come down to the landing site properly. A hang glider is a triangular shaped airplane made of sails and aluminum pipes. A paraglider is a parachute-shaped vehicle. In the video, a small paraglider can be seen in the distance.

    The 360 degree camera is a good idea in principle but in practice it's just annoying. There's nothing better than a decent camera angle from the rear, looking forward.

    • @skylinecityhiacesurf
      @skylinecityhiacesurf 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your comment. When 360 degree cameras weren't on the market yet, I used a regular camera. The photo was taken from an angle from behind. For example, the video below. ruclips.net/video/dEKMp5PWJTk/видео.html Editing 360-degree images is difficult, but I find it useful because I can select the angle when editing. I can edit the angles from the front, or focusing on other gliders' take-offs and landings. The disadvantage is that the surrounding image is distorted. People who don't know about it may think it's a small, curved glider. I'm currently attaching a GoPro Session to the right wing end and taking preliminary images. For example, the video below shows the takeoff and landing scene. ruclips.net/video/E_2GCKoPlt8/видео.html Next time, I'll try shooting from the rear angle using Session for the first time in a while.
