If the engine is hunting during idle its likely to be the butterfly in the injection system run some barium b12 put half in the tank and then put the other half straight through the injection unit at a high rpm but bear in mind it will smoke more than usual while it's working

Make sure you have no leaks on the intake side

You always want to refill a oil filter. According to the Land Rover shop manual the proper procedure for oil change step 1) drain old oil. 2) refill oil sump with oil. 3) remove old oil filter. 4)Install new prefilled oil filter. Reason is if the pick up tube and the oil filter are both empty or the oil filter is removed, and the oil is removed from the sump, the oil will drain out of the oil pump and it will lose its prime.

Could I suggest you use high zddp oil for a rv8, valvoline vr1 20w50 is well regarded for flat tappet cams otherwise great work and good to see a classic being kept alive

am so pleased for you , it sounds good and looks good , you must repair the oil lines as blocking them off blows out the internal seals ,i have now bought a scissor lift as crawling under is getting to be hard work looking forward to the next tasks

Painting the radius arms may be a waste of time. I painted mine and the paint just disappeared over the next year.

hello again , i commented on the last video about my rrc and how bad it was ,engine gearbox rebuild new wiring , now i have had new fuel pump and lines and if you jack the chassis in the rear foot well area the door gap alters ,so now needs a replacement chassis , just remember its all good fun if you dont weaken

i know your frustration well ,my 1971 two door that should have been an easy to restore motor has been a nightmare , have had to rebuild the engine the gear box new exhaust then it wont start so new disy and coil and because i have fitted late model s,u, carbs i now need a new fuel pump and now the rad is new as the old one leaks, old cars can be so much fun,and forgot had to put in a wiring loom

It seems you have the wrong rear wing back in the boot if it’s a 1990 model car. The wing is for a 1991 model year.😊 Lovely Range Rover tough, the white colour suit’s it well👍🏻
