This video is The 2023 Walleye Car Show in Freeland Michigan. The Car Show had several Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, Old Trucks, and a couple of Model T's. This Video goes into depth about the Model T since most Car Shows typically do not have Model T's. Sorry about the camera being jerky, I filmed it in slow motion, thought it was filmed in a time laps. When I edited the video it became jerky ...

Presidential Cars at The Henry Ford
Просмотров 41 тыс.Год назад
This video is about some of the Presidents' Limos/Cars which is at The Henry Ford. Some of the limos include John F. Kennedy's. Ronald Reagon's, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. (The Kennedy Limo has a V8, I misspoke and said V6)
Good detailed video. 👍
Thank you, glad you thought so!
You stated that the Kennedy car had a V6- I'm sure you accidentally said that- Ford didn't have a V6 back then- it most likely had the Lincoln 430 V8. Originally it was painted Midnight blue- a very dark metallic blue and the medium blue leather seats matched it. Johnson made them paint it black- although he hated the car and would only ride in it if there was no other choice. One source I read said that after the investigation they stripped the car to the frame and rebuilt it. A side fact- although it was a 1961 it had been updated with a 1962 grille to make it appear new. The chrome grilles on the taillights also were from a later vintage.
Thank you for the info, I did put a note in the description about the engine size, thanks again. Very interesting about the color of the color being changed.
Superb
Thank you!
I would never be so rude as to refer to you as 'boy'. I am partially deaf and I heard every word you said. A very interesting video. Thank you.❤👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!!!
your diction is poor. Often could not understand what you were saying. Also, some misinformation. Very interesting video.
Thank you for your comment, this was my first video, I have been learning since this video. I am using a mic now and not the mic from the recorder, which has helped. I know during the Kennedy Limo I misspoke about the engine, I did add a comment about that in the description. Please let me know if there is any other info I missed and I will place it in the description or we can talk about it here in the comments.
3:09...What's ironic is if that rear "bubble top" section were bulletproof, JFK would probably have lived.
Yeah, I would agree, if they had some kind of glass roof that was bulletproof he would’ve probably survived.
The decision was made that morning to not use the top.
@@nomadyesmad4875 do you know who made the call not to use the top?
Kennedy Himself made the call not to use it. Secret Service wanted Him to use an enclosed vehicle. Kennedy wanted the crowds to be able to see Him.
@@Zeke43701 I guess maybe we will not see another convertible Presidential Car
Looks like armored glass on the Sunshine Special. Not that the Government wouldn't bullet proof a convertible.
Making it a removable hard top would work, I wonder how much it would weigh!
When Capone was convicted for tax evasion, the Treasury seized his armored car. FDR used it to go to the Capitol on Dec. 8 to request a declaration of war. He was the first President to ride in an armored car but it wasn't made for him. This is well-known but, considering the topic of your video, I thought there might be some young viewers who weren't aware of it.
That is a cool fact!!! Had no idea about that!
The Kennedy car had a v8
Yes, thank you for letting me know, I did place a comment in the video description about that.
COOL, HISTORICAL CARS!!!!!
Yeah The Henry Ford has some pretty cool cars there, I am planning to go back sometime this year to do some more videos!
Yep, the huge price tags for these presidential cars can not be overlooked. But the extras that was built into the car like bullet proof windows, armor plating, run flat tires, etc, does not come cheap which warrants the high price tag! Ps, the Kennedy car that you looked at was the car he was using when he was fatally shot. The armor plate roof was added later to enclose the car completely.
Thank you for the info about the armor plated roof! It’s a shame that it takes an event like this to make something safer.
That definitely isn't the car Kennedy was assassinated in
After Kennedy was assassinated the limo was impounded for evidence. After the investigation they released the limo and was put back to use with several modifications. Once the limo was retired it ended up a museum piece, which is the one at The Henry Ford. Please visit The Henry Ford website and you can see the whole history of the car. The link to the article is provided. www.thehenryford.org/artifact/50194/
KENNEDYS CAR AT 4:26 HAS THE WRONG HUBCAPS ON IT, KENNEDY LIKED THE 57 LINCOLN CAPS BETTER, THEY ARE SHOWN IN THE PHOTO AT 3:44. FYI
Those little details would make the displayed vehicle that much better!
@@Motorcity_Cars_and_Coffee YOU ARE CORRECT SIR. I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY REPLACED THEM ANYWAY.
Next time, choose a filming time when there is no screaming of kids or noise of what so ever. You are documenting.
Thank you for the input, I am working on getting a external mic to pick up my voice better. The Henry Ford will be hard to pick a time with no kids and some noise background, that Museum is very Family oriented, but I will try.
Interesting video but sound not clear and practice your camera work to keep it steady. Keep improving.
Thank you for the input, I will work on all these m!
Es una elegancia tener ese automóvil.
Yeah, it would be nice to have one of those cars, especially having someone drive you around!
I just read something on the beast. When it is going to be retired it will be crushed and then shedded. Per secret service so the technology with in will not get out into the public.
Thank you for the info, wish the public can enjoy the Beast!
Good Job!
Thank you!
The 'Kennedy Lincoln' is powered by a 430 cu V8, and is most definitely N O T the car in which President Kennedy was assassinated! You need to revisit your research before posting.
Jerry Callender, According to The Henry Ford that was the limo that Kennedy was Assassinated in. Check out their website, they go into details about the multiple modifications that were made throughout the years after the assassination, the limo was decommissioned in 1977 and is now displayed at The Henry Ford.
Here is a question. Do you think when they retire the beast if it will go to the Henry Ford?
I hope so, if the trend continues it should be there at one point in the future
I have heard that there will be no more presidential cars in museums. They will be destroyed in tests to improve security in all future presidential cars.
Thank you for the info, that is somewhat disappointing
I agree.@@Motorcity_Cars_and_Coffee
Secret Service now destroys presidential limos at the end of their service life to 1). Keep the protections and technologies that the limos have secret and 2). To test the effectiveness of the armor and make improvements to the newer models based on what they find when they destroy the vehicles. -According to the Secret Service and other sources-
Awesome video 😎👍
Thank you!!!
Speak up boy I was really interested but couldn't understand a word you said while in the museum
Thank you for the comment, I will keep that in mind for my next video, especially if there is a lot of background noise.
Thanks for the historical perspective
You are welcome, there is so much to learn at The Henry Ford, I just cracked the surface there!

Thank you!
