Join us in revolutionizing the future of EV transportation. Let's Indigo!
Discover the future of commercial fleet transportation with Indigo Technologies, founded by award-winning MIT professor Ian Hunter and led by serial MIT entrepreneur Will Graylin. Our robotics and automotive experts are developing the next generation of efficient, cost-effective smart electric vehicles (EVs).
Indigo's innovative SmartWheels™ technology, protected by over 100 patents, integrates direct-drive propulsion with advanced sensing active suspension in each motor at no extra cost. Each wheel's sensors feed data to our software, automatically adjusting to bumps, potholes, and turns for a smooth, safe ride, previously unachievable with conventional technologies.

    More like Soft suspension vs Stiff suspension

    • @spdcrzy
      @spdcrzy 6 месяцев назад

      No, the active suspension was quite stiff too. The amount of movement was just FAR better damped. It's quite interesting. This is what I'm seeing: on the standard car the suspension follows your standard damped sine wave motion, but on the active car it's almost like the suspension slows itself down right as you cross equilibrium, so the actual range of motion is kept the same while minimizing weight transfer during the process. Alternating compression beyond equilibrium with full droop on the opposite side shortly after is what causes the weight transfer that creates head toss, but instantaneous full droop by itself (provided you don't lose contact with the road, another side effect of weight transfer) usually should not. So you maintain full travel while keeping the car much flatter.

    This is really cool. The problem is it doubles the weight of the car.

    Now that Indigo has reinvented the wheel, it’s time to reinvent the speed-bump.

      @@CrazyGamer-eg9jt it would solve porpoising, but it would also be really dangerous, because the drivers have to trust the suspension will give them extra grip, and if for some reason it doesnt, then that could lead to a massive crash

      People seem to always say the obvious, then not realise that active suspension will make the cars weigh another 50 kilos. as well as the silly batteries etc. LMP cars will end up lighter !!!!

    Is this mode decoupling? via hydraulics or electromechanical? is it active or passive setup?

  • @stupendas101

    This is a stupid comparison. If you put speed bumps down the middle then it's a fair comparison. The way it is now is : Look a car that does not drive over speed bumps shakes less than a car that does. Thank you Einstein for pointing that out. You know what even smoother than that ???? a motorcycle riding between the speed bumps

    Looks like a worse version of the system Bose (yes, the audio company) developed back in the late 80's or 90's. It looked MUCH more impressive.
