Poor kid. I felt the same way seeing Russian youth march during Russia's victory parade. They are brought up to take pride conquering and colonisation. All they'll know is hate. I'm Irish and I feel sorry for these British who's only source of national pride involves the glorification of invading my country. I could never imagine myself marching through English cities and calling myself "a conqueror" as something to be proud of. I'm glad most British aren't like this. It's only the extreme loyalists.
You really have no idea, it’s laughable what you read in to a marching band, lol..take a look at republican marches, to see young kids stand in silence holding pictures of dead IRA men, that’s scary, the kids here put on a uniform and love walking with the band..there’s no big story attached , as much as hypocrites want there to be..they love it, our celebrations are always joyful not shooting guns over coffins..or like I said above holding pictures of dead men and women from a terrorist organisation and making kids take part ..

Great memories of visiting during the 1980s from Chelsea, yeah, one of those rare people who actually grew up in and still lives in Chelsea. 3 of us came over, we'd a couple of drop-outs due to work, had the time of our lives. Warm welcome, terrific hospitality and I met a lovely local girl who wouldn't leave Belfast but we're still in touch as great friends. Can't beat that honour of the band. Cheers to you all and here's to next year doing it all over again.
That’s really good to hear, we have lots of visitors from the rest of the UK come over for football and mainly to enjoy the parades.,in spite of the people who want to tare us down we keep going, after all it’s celebrations nothing more than that..love that you have great memories ..thanks for sharing 💙🇬🇧

I've been to your lovely country twice both for 12th of July celebrations in 1980 and 83 and there was about 30 of us and we met a few people who between put all of us up for the duration of our stay in didn't matter we were all hooligans not skinheads we liked our Burberry etc but it opened our eyes how respectful the people we meet were not been back since but got lovely memories of our jaunt across the water thank you
Brilliant that you’ve good memories from your visits..yes lots of a Scots always come over for the 12th and also few other parades..always great to see you all….going back to that time era my husband and few mates often got put up in Scotland when they went over to watch the famous Glasgow Rangers 💙😁 ... always been a great bond between yourselves and us....long may it continue..👍🇬🇧

Fair play to ALL the bars in Sandy row who made the effort. I'm sure a lot of these Chelsea fans had never seen a flute band before. I was working in town on the day of the match and it was great to see them enjoy our wee city.
