A couple of things. First thing is lv 2 monsters give better drops for energy spent on ultra rears. But if you want other things like a 3 day shields or higher gems then Lv 5's are the jam. That being said I noticed you had Grove Guardian in your heros list? Do you have Boomeister? If so swap these two for Tracker and Death Archer and you should get a little bit more damage. Next thing is once you have completed 25 hits and have 404% DMG then you should hit with your maximum 5 hits. Until you can finish it off with less. You will find that you will get about 1/3 more in the gifts as apposed to hitting with 5 singles. Take it easy and enjoy the game.
