Is there aa way to make this dress without a zipper just a pull over the head style?
@@donnadabb57 I'm sure you could you would just need to make it out of a stretch knit fabric
This was a nice dress you made. Wow. I have to find this pattern. Thank you for sharing.🎉
Hi, does this pattern run true to size? I wear a four six in retail shops. However this waist band seems too small…
@@coachterrie I do recall needing to adjust the sizing of the waistband on this one. I usually go by the finished garment measurements that are printed on the pattern and have good luck with that in regards to sizing.
The dress is Fabulous , and the color you picked really hugs you , I am planning on sewing this dress and was looking for a sew along and ran into your channel so I must say Thank You and thanks for being real I will be sewing or trying to sew mine soon. 👏🏽 great job.
Thank you!
Sending you a virtual hug. I’m so sorry for your loss.🌷
That is so cute. Love it.
Super cute! 🍉 thank you, I’m trying that zipper technique next time
Glad to help!
Very nice! I’d be interested in more on the zipper technique with the lining
I'll go more in depth in the next video, thanks for the feedback!
Beautiful dress!!❤
Thank you!
Sorry for your loss <3 thank you for the time put in for this wonderful video!
I’m so lost on this pattern. I’m making the sleeveless with the detachable collar and the pattern is SO confusing I want to cry 😩
I’m going to give this dress another go in the next week or so. I’ll try to break the steps down further, I know the collar is no joke.
I’m sorry for your loss, and I’m glad you’re back. I like your videos ❤
Beautiful ❤ sending hugs and prayers for you
😃❤
Welcome back!
Thanks for this vid, I'm trying to decide whether to make this....still can't decide.
Hi, sorry I'm late to the party! A wee note on the ties... the pattern says that the ties are attached to the side seams, not the centre back. You are meant to cross one under the other underneath your chest and then tie at the back. I'm sure that'll look lovely on your figure!
Très déçue, vidéo inutile on voit une machine qui pique en accéléré, aucun intérêt. Montrer le montage sur les points techniques auraient été utile mais là je qualifierai cette vidéo de foutage de G.
Have you done any more videos on this collar? It stressed me out so bad I almost cried 😞. I'm a beginner sewer as well. Thought everything was going great until the collar. 😞
I am having so many problems with the collar fitting in with the back. It's where you sew from the shoulders to the dot where you stop and reforce the dot. Then you sew dot to dot on the collar. It turned out all wonky and I don't know what to.
It turned out absolutely amazing 🤩❤️😍✨ and I loved the video 🤗
Thank you!
That turned out nice. Good job. Thanks for showing us the details. That plaid really worked.
Good job. Next time I would make the sleeves fuller, the bust fuller, maybe even eliminating the darts and make the skirt longer. I agree with you on the bow. Thanks for showing us the construction techniques and I’ve never done an invisible zipper before, so thanks. We need to get you a vintage black Singer sewing machine. Those are all I use and they are absolutely wonderful. You can’t serve with them though so you have a point using the one you got.
Not sure why I missed this comment but thank you very much!
Great job. At first I couldn’t see it asa house dress but it totally grew on me .. the contrast fabric was a great idea and I like the vent in the back for more room in case you are getting into a truck or something. I think I would make the pockets bigger but that might make it look sloppy but I like to put toweling for my nose, keys, etc in there. Really nice. Thank you. I would make it out of cotton for comfort despite the ironing issue. You couldn’t even find this at a store where stuff is too hip. Designers consider cotton fattening nowadays. It’s either geometric or animal prints too nowadays in stead of feminine, pleasant floral prints.
I agree about the pockets-whenever I make another of this I will definitely go bigger with them. They serve their purpose but don’t hold very much and I like to wear this to do chores so I usually have plenty to carry. Mine is cotton and yes it does wrinkle but not so much that it looks frumpy, its very comfortable in the summer.
Ur done here I guess.
Its funny when Google brings us all full circle. Miss seeing you for afternoon beers and hotdogs. I am making this dress with the detachable collar and you'd think with an MFA in costume design I would understand what they are asking me to do.
🤣 yes! This type of collar is one of those "best of luck to you" kinds of projects! Miss those days too!
@@greenacrevintage it's partially my fault, I always make changes to patterns and wanted the entire thing lined with some slight boning for a a crisp line. I can do all that nonsense...but read the pattern...
Is it possible to make a flower shaped Juliet cap? If so, will I need additional tools in order to achieve it? ☺️
I think you could, it would just mean using more wire to shape them into the flower you choose. So the answer is no you wouldn't need different tools.
Looks glamorous!
Thank you!
Thank you! I had this pattern saved for a while, but was debating whether or not to make it. This has really helped me. 😁
Can you make this with crocheting?
Not sure, I don't crochet. Perhaps there is a historical pattern available for crocheting?
Thank you. Have you made the bolero yet?
Not yet. It's on the docket for this year.
Thanks so much for taking your time to show us how to do it, step by step.
I wish I could post a picture of my finishes juliet cap. It came out so beautiful
That's great!! Post it to Instagram and tag Green Acre Vintage!
I’m actually making this dress right now and I couldn’t figure out the collar part (I’m pretty new to sewing so if you’d be willing to explain it or anything that’d be super helpful) and even thought you didn’t show it I think I have an idea of how you did it so thank you!!!! Also it could just be a size difference (my chest if very flat) but i found that the stretchy fabric I used didn’t cause end of the problems you’ve mentioned in the video so maybe that would help?
Thanks! I honestly need to make this particular type of collar about 50 more times to feel comfortable with it but in the end it turned out to be a lot of manipulation of seams. I did end up clipping more than I anticipated in the corners of the neckline to be able to ease the actual collar into the neckline, hopefully that is helpful for you 🤷🏼♀️
@@greenacrevintage kind of, I honestly just really wish I could find a video of someone doing. This collar because I’ve tried to do it so many times and I can’t see to get it right
Beautyfull hair thankyou.....
Thank you!
Very lovely!
Thank you!!
Thanks for trying this pattern out 🥰 you are so talented 😘 thanks so much for your time and video 💕 and what a beautiful view 🦋🌷
Thank you!
Your dress is super cute, love the fit!
Thank you so much!
so cute.
Thank you!
Pockets yes !!!! 😍
Hahaha yes!! Every dress needs them!!
Happy Easter Time 🥰 lovely Video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the tip on sleeves - I will try adding them earlier like that. Very pretty fabric!
Thanks! Happy Sewing!
I bypassed this pattern recently and now I kinda wanna make it. Thanks for the video
Of course! Thank you!
What a beautiful dress 👗 nice fabric 👌🏻😍🌸👍🏻
Thank you!!
Love where you live, what a view!!
Thank you!
Wow you are very well! Love the vintage style
You are so beautiful 😻 in the video - you helped me with this video 😍
Thank you!
You're right, cute hat but not a beret. Good job...I'm enjoying your channel.
Thank you! I've worn it out since making it and I like it better now than I did initially but thankfully I have enough fabric left to adjust the pattern and make a real beret.
@@greenacrevintage That's terrific...hope you post the process.
Nice fabric choices, you might want to talk people through tutorials- just saying. If they are looking up a how to- the silent you’ll figure it out isn’t really helpful.
Working on a new version now, thanks for the feedback!
You make my day complete with simplicity are you are doing one dress 👗 of simplicity in Sommer ? ☀️🤗
Thank you so much! I have several patterns prepped to film and most of those are dresses!
Yes 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩🤩😘
