Just stumbled across this, i used to be a regular at the blue monkey, Adrian Street had one of the best record boxes around, me and my friend lived in Sunderland and were so lucky to have this on our doorstep, we did travel all over the country and Europe they were the best times never to be repeated, and in anser to the police officer i would rather my daughter be in a venue like the blue monkey than in town these days

Love been born and bred and still live in the wonderful North East. It’s a special place

There’s a perfect venue on the west road the old Super Bowl if anyone fancies trying to get an all nighter set up 😂😂

I only went twice to the original Blue Monkey in Sunderland and it happened to be the last two nights ever in June 1993! I was 16, and my 17 year old mate drive us all up there from Scarborough. I remember absolutely nothing other than the unbelievable vision before me when I walked in the club looking down from the balcony to the carnage happening below with Adrian Street DJing! Awesome.

Geoff Wonfor was my cousin. I met him only once when I was about 10 years old. I'm now 68. I'v only just heard he passed away. I am gutted. Someone please tell his children I'm thinking of them. I was always so proud that someone in my family did something good. RIP Sir. I wish I'd known you better. Love to your children ❤ xx

Surely the huntsman knows best to call the hounds in - eg close to road, railway tracks etc. Thats not your call to make. The huntsman needs to know all their hounds are together and their not leaving any behind when moving to the next cover.

It sounds like he has an addiction to adrenaline and thrill seeking. I'm not knocking it because I get it. I was very much like him but to a far lesser extent (I just didn't have the absolutely muckle balls he does!). Sometimes you just have to live life on your terms. 🖤
