Whew, “Tourtured_voices” is my all time favorite cut. So much so that I sampled it in an unreleased project. It’s just so..dismal and dark and as a sound designer myself, these freak me out because they sound so otherworldly. Although sometimes it’s something as silly as a bodily sound just stretched and reversed and such, these are amazing.

Serious Sam 5 The last encounter theme

Somber_01 sounds like it is inspired from the Doom 2 soundtrack 'Getting Too Tense' which plays in Level 28 Spirit World.

I love the eerie sound of the first part, but those samples are far too short, and I think repetitive. But really creepy and eerie.

There should be a crossover between Doom and Dead Space.. that would be FIREEEEEEE 🔥🔥🌌🩸

IMO Doom³ had the scariest depiction of hell in any form of media. What makes it even more terrifying is that audio log of the scientist who was stuck in Hell. He meantions that he turned his back to his team to collect a sample but when he turned around they were gone, vanished into thin air, all equipment just sitting there. Just something about that is just deeply unsettling. And the other audio logs that were about the men who came back rapidly lost their minds and went into full blown dementia and then slowly became the undead. So stepping into hell literally dooms you and once you return its only a matter of time before you lose your mind and your body deteriates and then your soul is forever damned to hell. Doom³ is a severely underrated masterpiece.

Doom3 is still the best atmosphere of all, I hope so there will be one day a doom3 killer 👹

I played Doom 3 when I was about ten years old. It just so happened to be the first videogame I ever played aside from Mario cart. It was, without question, the scariest piece of media I had ever experienced. The terror and dread you feel lurking around every corner is almost too much to bear. The unfathomably dark atmosphere is nearly palpable. I remember being so scared I'd have to pause and take a break every so often just to catch my breath. Looking back at it now, it doesn't seem to have lost that effect on me. I'm so thankful for the developers who made this game. They clearly put their heart and soul into it.

5:13 , when you slowly realize we're all doomed

Doom 3 was different from the rest of the series and wasn't received well at the time (since it pretty much came out at the same time as Half Life 2 as well.), but now it seems to age quite well for the sudden rise and popularity of the horror genre. This was pretty much not only my first Doom game but my first horror game, that to this day despite playing countless times over the years still scares me.

Those who were in charge for sound design of 3rd doom made their job outstandingly. Masterpiece with a soul in it.

This theme is rather underrated. I do not remember hearing this particular portion of the theme in the game (possibly unused), but it sounds very engaging! There are unused patterns in many of Unreal Gold's tracks (that also includes the original Unreal Tournament tracks as well).

doom 3 ambiance just gets in your head, the loneliness, the gore in the walls, the writings in blood, corpses everywhere, almost complete silence except from machinery working 24/7 despite not a single person operating them, and then the voices and whispers, screams of agony later on, best game in the saga for me for sure, it tried something new and delivered.

I love Hell's depiction in 2016 and Eternal as a place that feels impossibly dangerous and chaotic yet still full of life horrible as that life may be, but the way Hell is depicted in Doom 3 is one of complete dread. In 2016/Eternal Hell feels like a blasted and ruined wasteland dotted with spots of note, but in Doom 3 everything about Hell feels very deliberate, as if the entirety of Hell itself is alive, knows exactly where you are at all times, and is toying with you, letting you by for just a little bit longer to let you believe you're safe before showing you how wrong you are.

Serious sam is an underrated series, and frankly like it that way, no modern BS on it
