ICF Storm Shelter Build part 1
Building a garage for my studio and other todays. Decided to go with an ICF Storm Shelter. This shelter will be rated to withstand 250 mph winds from an EF5 Tornado. With FEMA 320 steel door. This video shows you the foundation that is going into this shelter. Not all foundations will require as much work. Mine did due to the slope of the backyard. ICF short for Insulated Concrete Form. The forms stay and provide insulation. They go together like lego blocks. We talk more about putting them together in Part 2.

Smoke Vortex from a field fire in NW Alabama
Просмотров 3935 месяцев назад
Jordan Davis, Assistant Chief of Nitrate City VFD shared this video with us. He and several other fire crews battled a fire in a corn field Saturday afternoon. A smoke vortex formed as the low level wind shear increased along a t-storm boundary. Cool video. Glad nobody was hurt. Sounds like they got the fire out just in time as it was getting close to residential homes. Saturday August 31, 2024

Beautiful from start to finish. We had an old outflow boundary move in just after sunrise. Storms triggered later that afternoon in the distance over eastern Alabama. Camera located in Florence, AL

Full edited video of the first time I put the #69Mach1 on the dyno

First time on the Dyno with the #69Mach1. Original 351W but I put a 410 stroker kit in it. 11.5:1 compression with full Edelbrock Performer RPM package. Flat tappet camshaft and lifters with 1.72:1 Scorpion Roller Rocker arms. Holly 650 Double Pumper carb. Looks like the max rpm was 5600 but this motor will probably take 6500 rpm so the horsepower is probably a little closer to 400 at the rear ...

Love to see these videos!
As a tradesman myself, I have so much respect for a man that chooses to do these salt of the earth tasks themselves. This is awesome. Thank you for everything you do for us Brad.
Thank you. A good workout too.
I appreciate these 4/27/11 coverage posts. I watched from the severe weather that morning all the way until that night.
I forgot the studio almost got hit! What a historic day
What a wonderful idle! Love the hood pins, the paint, the ball shifter and interior is perfect and if you ever get tired of the sound of that engine (as if that's possible) an awesome stereo!? It is perfect!

That is wild! Neve saw that before. Thanks for sharing!
This is so scary to see. Our family had just moved to Hartselle and I was finishing out the school year in Decatur when this day happened. I've watched the coverage of the Cullman and Tuscaloosa tornados many times. But I've never seen this one. I remember taking shelter from it. It was us and our neighbors in our tornado shelter (and my cat and their dog) Edit: I remember taking shelter at least 3 times, and when we weren't taking shelter I was watching the news. My mom tried to get me to watch anything else, but I wanted to be weather aware ig. I would get so nervous if she turned off the news, so it was easier to have it on (until we lost power lol). It was definitely a day I'll never forget, even though I was so young, and definitely something that pushed me to want to become a meteorologist.
I saw this! I’m so glad you captured this!
Very Cool 😎
Beautiful car 🚗❤
Thanks
The gas cap popped open. Did that mean "feed me"?
How much power did she put out?
Oh yeah, my dad was in one of the 2011 tornadoes that hit Cullman and Arab. there was nothing left in my house and Arab after it destroyed it all. My dad didn’t end up being miraculously OK!
What's the motor and cam?
Which dyno did you take it to?
Hornbuckle Detail has a hub dyno.
Nice!
You know that baby is torquing when the gas lid comes down! Now that's a car.
Sounds great Brad!
Love it ❤ sounds awesome 😎
This is a wonderful video. I found it very helpful for the planning of my vacation there, thank you
We going next week for a week, we have a 8yr old, was wondering if they provide life jackets or should we carry one _ from Canada 🇨🇦 😮?
😈 cool!!!
Great video you did great!!
Nice video
LOVE THE CAR
Where is Brad? It’s tornadoes everywhere.
Shinoda was a flippin genious.
Nicely done, great choices in wheels and color etc. A little more cam than I'd do, but it's your car and you do you!
The open exhaust makes the cam sound a little more aggressive.
Absolutely beautiful!😍
That mustang of yours kicks butt Brad!
Thanks. It's a lot of fun to drive. Took a while to get comfortable
Love the TC. I live in Kansas. Anyone know of any TC's here in Kansas?
Great review and tour Brad! Love the old photo and the new version!
Thanks!
Damn! That's a nice Mustang!
Hey man I loved your speech at our school! And everything you do for us!
You didn't stay for the eclipse tomorrow?!?!!
What an awesome edit 🍻
Cool video Brad!
Note: WAFF-TV had already lost its radar when this EF5 touched down. Prior to the Rainsville EF5, the Hackleburg-Phil Campbell EF5 Tornado had ripped through Limestone County, Alabama (where WAFF’s primary radar was). It obliterated the radar dome and sky camera. Hence you can’t see the radar sweep on the screen. WAFF needed to use other radar stations to track the Rainsville EF5. WAFF would install a new radar to replace the destroyed radar in March of 2012.
I remember ABC33/40 had lost their primary radar that day, too. The morning's round of severe weather took it out. They ended up using the National Weather Service's Nexrad that afternoon, if I remember correctly.
Interesting stuff! Thanks for keeping us updated Brad and nice fish!
I remember April 27th 2011 like it was yesterday, I lived in Madison at the time near County Line Rd, I remember when the Hackleburg tornado came up on the tv screen on the Alfa Camera, the siren about two houses down from mine commenced to screaming not 2 seconds after the tornado was shown, I’m 23 now and I still think about that moment almost everyday.
Missed the live, but watched the replay. This was interesting.
I will have more from the conference in the coming weeks. A better breakdown.
More active storms are expected this year than last year, so it looks?
I always feel better when Brad talks to me during bad weather.
