Добавлен 30 авг 2020
A UK based Painter & Decorator bringing you videos on my projects.
Before & Afters ✔️
Hints and tips ✔️
I cover painting, decorating, small plastering jobs, dry lining, ames taping, spraying plus more.
My Facebook page and Instagram page are of the same name.
I'm based in Somerset should you require any quotes for work to be carried out. My contact details can be found there.
You'll notice the channel didn't start out covering my day job. It started as my hobby, cooking videos. However with the business growing and a young family, I don't have the time to upload cooking content anymore. So I've brought the RUclips channel upto date with my Facebook and Instagram in order to add it to my business functions.

Visit to Isle of Lewis and Harris | Outer Hebrides | 2023

A working holiday to the Isle of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles as it's often known... I've had a bit of time off from filming for a while. A whole change in lifestyle circumstances. This holiday was just what I needed to refresh and get back into the swing of things. I will start putting cooking videos back out again soon. Thank you for your continued support guys. I r...
How to use the IKEA Skarande Knife Sharpener | Cooking on a Budget
Просмотров 23 тыс.3 года назад
£8!!! brilliant. The IKEA Skarande knife sharpening system. How to use it! and definitely get one. (No I'm not sponsored by or affiliated to IKEA. I think they're over priced sh*t, but this is good) 😂 Subscribe for more - Recipes and Reviews #cookingonabudgetuk
thanks a lot for the video. Can the knife sharpener also be used for a serrated bread knife?
Not sure whether it is meant to be or not, but I do mine in it and have done since I got it, still nice n sharp.
Effloressence is the salts and the minerals being pushed through the substrate, usually caused by damp. In this case it's a single skin block workshop with the ground outside piled against the wall (workshop built into side of mound) This damp can not be "fixed" short of building a new workshop or a digger for extensive groundworks. Cleaning the mould off and treating with an Alkali resistant Primer and then respraying with masonry paint was all that can be done for a refresh. Will get a few years out of it. Could have looked at internal tanking, studding/insulating/boarding etc, but the costs on a rented run down workshop were not worth it. These workshops realistically need knocking down, but a refresh in the meantime keeps them looking fresher.
Very nice
@@MotoMotors2004 thanks buddy. Finally bringing my RUclips upto date with my Facebook and Instagram, hence the large amount of upload today. Lot of work went into this one but really happy with the outcome.
@Danieljamespainteranddecorator that's wonderful, congrats on your renovations!
Thankyou! 😀
@@Danieljamespainteranddecorator I'm now your 500th subscriber
@@MotoMotors2004 congratulations 🤣 thanks for that. Appreciate it. Hopefully that will increase now I've brought the channel in this direction and in line with my business rather than just random videos.
Thank you. Really clear directions
I kind of had to do it, the instructions that came with it were not very good. You got one yourself?
@@Danieljamespainteranddecorator yes
Thanks brother, really helpfull video!
You're welcome, if it helps, I posted this video a few years ago and I still have it in the drawer and use it regularly. It actually turned out to be a pretty decent buy.
Hey my Friend, I have seen your videos which are really awesome and video Thumbnails are so eye-catching. But due to some errors in your Channel and Videos like (SEO and Optimization) Your videos are not Reaching your Targeted audience and that's why after uploading a lot of videos you are not getting expected Views and Subscribers in your channel. I am a RUclips SEO Expert and if you want I can help you to solve these problems. As a result I can say that you will be able to see much better results than you currently have in your Channel. Also I have audited your channel and created a report. I want to show you, but how can I contact you?
It's OK friend. I do it for fun. I'm not really bothered how many people the videos reach. But thank you for your time.
mucky mouthed southerner should stay south, pitiful location info and musta never seen a sheep !
That beach 😍
Luskentyre beach. Voted number 1 in UK and 4 in the world. Water was surprisingly warm too.
wth, no example after. Shouldn't be that you can run your fingers along even from the sides. Nice and sharp but doesn't cut his fingers 🤣😂 no examples after. Just been waiting for that result. Waste of time rly
It's possible to still run your fingers along a brand new scalpel blade side to side too without getting cut. What's your point? And besides it's a budget domestic knife sharpener designed to give your kitchen knives a makeover and get more life out of them, not to turn a dull kitchen knife into a surgical tool. 😂
It could be a good idea to wipe them in between so the scraping from a coarser stone doesn't get onto the other. It's getting a bit better now that I use them from both sides@@Danieljamespainteranddecorator
well done!
Thanks. You must be a mind reader to comment right at this moment 😂 I have literally just finished using it again for the first time in months to sharpen my cooking knives. Wierd 😂
@@Danieljamespainteranddecorator 😂 nice coincidence!
Thanks for the video. Does it make a dull knife razor sharp? Or sharp enough? Hpw sharp exactly :)
So my sharper knives to begin with were not far off razor sharp afterwards. My dull knife (I mean really dull) was really sharp afterwards, but not razor. I haven't done it again since and it's still sharp. It's not a pro sharpener by any means, but for household use it's really good.
Hi mate, I bought it and will try it. Cheers
Ah nice, you'll have to let me know how you find it. I had several knife sharpeners now, short of actually getting a proper wet n dry stone out the shed, this is the next best thing.
What is your experience with this tool now?
I don't know how the original commenter is getting on with it, but for me, it's still going, lives in my blender and mixer cupboard, comes out periodically when I get chance (about every 6 months) and I give them a little go over and freshen up. The novelty and excitement has worn off now 😂 but it's very handy to have around.
@@linuspauli8049for unknown reason I did not get a notification so i couldn’t see your message. It is going very well. I use it for all knives at home. I recommend this to everyone except high end carbon steel knives because if you have that kinda knife, it means sharpening is one of your hobby😂
@@Danieljamespainteranddecoratorit is dirt cheap to replace. This sharpener at £10 is nowhere close to the price tag of high end sharpeners so I believe it has insane value 👌🏻
So, I have a new video coming soon on my new knife set that I got last year, I purposely have not sharpened them yet. So that I can do an honest review. However once that video is published, I can't wait to get this bad boy back out the drawer so i can sharpen the new set. 😀 stay tuned!
Very helpful! Thanks
No problem. I read the instructions, wasn't that clear, thought I'd help. 😀 it's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Do you have one? How do you find it?
Po każdym przejściu widać cięcie filmu , dlaczego? Żeby ukryć wady tego ostrzenia , a szkoda bo idzie tym jako tako naostrzyć ale proszę bez szwindlu.
"You can see the cut of the film after each pass, why? To hide the disadvantages of this sharpening, which is a pity, because it is going to sharpen it somehow, but please do not be fooled". Sorry i had to google translate it. not really quite sure what you are trying to get at. but yes there are several cuts in the film. I cut the video so that people didn't have to watch me sharpening on each stone for 15-30 strokes. And i was also editing it as i speak during the clip, not on a voice over. basically i was cutting it down from a 15 minute video to about 3 minutes.. nothing to do with "fooling people" literally showing people how to use the IKEA sharpener as the instructions were not very good. Still a bit baffled by this comment? but hey i guess you are the perfect example of why people should not do drugs....
@@Danieljamespainteranddecorator lol
@@kyo8390 I tried to be nice to him, but the more I got to the end of typing, I lost patience 😂
Wow!
Gotta keep those knives sharp sharp sharp! A surgeon wouldn't turn up to work with a blunt scalpel thus dont try to cook with a blunt knive!
Exactly. But mine were blunt for a couple years so I cant say much 😂
🛶 🚣♀️ 👍
new project this year you reckon? haha
🛶👌
Build another this year? 😂
