Had the pleasure of meeting Odia once with her dear friend Shelby who I worked with at that time at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. She impressed me as a real person and easy to talk with. And of course what a wonderful talent and voice!!
her voice is tremendous. but by '76, disco era, this old soul stuff was hardly commercial and this record didn't go anywhere. but i'm so glad someone posted it here, it's a really great song. these are two very talented people out of their time.

In this same year, 1975 I worked with Odia at a club in San Jose. She was very excited, as she had just signed to record with Paul Anka. Little did she know that he would keep her off stage when she sang. She was a nice lady, and easy to work with.
That was sad. She sounded beautiful though. Rip Odia.

I remember seeing your uncle and the boys in 1968 on TV . So cool. At the end of the song he held his hand high in the air as he and the group backed soulfully off the stage. You had to see it to realize how damn cool that looked. It was almost Ruffinesque. So glad to here he is still with us
