I 100% agree with everything you’re saying, but I don’t mind Shadow hovering when boosting. I personally feel like it shows that Shadow’s way to keep up with Sonic most of the time is The Air Shoes

The video hasn't started and I already agree. If it's about him floating I think it's dumb and might as well fully fly. I think the same for tails. You're feet are off the ground! Are you fling? Running and twirling tails make much more sense. Back to shadow, he should definitely do big over exaggerated skate kicks when boosting

Its rocket shoes, they propel shadow FORWARD he ain't gonna skate faster while boosting thats not how it works. You can't be serious. His shoes are supposed to propel him Upwards/Make him Hover above the ground. If you don't like that you're gonna have to suck it or wait for a mod.

I feel the same. If sonic literally has the same animation when boosting, so should shadow. Even the new anime shadow kept skating when boosting

Honestly, I like hover animation on boost more. If he used skating for boosting, he’d look like he’s struggling. But hovering? He hovers like it’s nothing. Plus, it only makes sense.

I mean, a lot of y’all forget that shadow is only able to chaos control that I emerald after the adventure games because he like the bio lizard has a organ that allows them to STORE not CREATE chaos energy if he was using that to move faster all the time how would he be able to chaos control? You said Super Sonic only has one boosting animation, but the Generations footage clearly shows two. What can improve the hover-boosting animation is to have long, highly visible jets of flame emit from the air shoes to give the impression of zooming like a jet or rocket.

Wow I thought I was the only one who felt this way about the current Shadow boost, glad to know there are others that feel the same. Also the boost Aura is terrible as well, it was the best in Sonic Unleashed and in Generations.

Heroes and shadow have the same animations Sonic force isn’t a game it’s sonic forces, and you seem to not say the letter s at all but there it’s probably an accent thing but you said sonic force not even sonic force-i and not pronounce it the s. I hope I don’t come across as mean I just am confused And hover is supposed be shadows going so fast with his air shoes he can just keep going by hovering. I do think skating is cool but sonic and shadow both have effortless top speeds in opposite ways and that further pushes there rivalry through animation because while it takes them both effort to get to to speed sonic finds it easy to maintain the speed in his leg movements and coasts along no problem. While shadow littlerally floats along no problem. The unleashed shadow mod only has him skating while boosting because the boost and top speed run are the same and it would look weird for shadow to boost with no boost aura. And it would be hard to mod it yourself when the game comes out. When hedgearcpack becomes compatible with the game, use it to unpack shadow’s .pac file and swap the copy the skate animation and rename it to the same as the boost and replace it, assuming modding that game works anything like modding forces and frontiers

I agree bro, but it also just depends on how good they make the animation. If you play as one of the super shadow mods in sa2, the one that doesn’t change his physics, his top speed animation is the metal sonic top speed animation, which is the best hover animation in all of sonic. Though I’ll always pick skating over hovering. Love SA2’s skating animations, just so swaggy and smooth

Yea, i agree. I find it extremely boring looking at shadow just kind of floating there in the air. U cant tell me that skating really fast is less interesting than that. Edit: it also sucks because the team actually put effort into his skating animation in shadow generations but we'll barely see it since i imagine it'll be really easy to get boost

Its 2024 and ppl stil dont know that the airshoes are supposed to make him fly at max Speed, this shit has been a thing since Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow 2005. And thats how he boosts in the Rival battle in Sonic Gens. The point is that at max speed he needs to do that.

Tbf that has always been his boost animation, I think it compliments his rocket boots

I completely agree with you. Usually, the faster you skate the less your arms are flailing around and youre leaning in more. Its a more focused animation the more you increase in speed. Sonic does this too. The faster he goes, the less he bounces

Shadow currently his skating gets slower the faster he gets, and I like that so for that reason I hate when shadows animation for boosting is just a sped up version,but I’m not against it as if they just make him have longer strides to emphasize how much effort he is putting into the boost I would love it, but I still really like the idea of the flying boost. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have problems with it, the current one has a worse animation then in generations, in gens you could still see was moving while boosting because of his body reacting to the boost, but now you can barely tell because the animation has like 2 frames masking it look like he is just staying still in the air, and the crazy part it, his air boost animation is perfect, has movement and his arms are behind him, like why is he doing the classic sonic thing where his arms are tucked to the side of the front of him, let them go behind him

I think its really cool he hovers, cause we only really see that in super forms, so the hover animation puts him that much closer to that standard And when you put it into the context of the angel island mural theory, well that just makes it that much cooler for me

Main reason it’s like this is bc generations Did it like that And I get why The animation emphasised The rocket like Nature of his speed. But Sonic Has a running animation and people like it.

Fyi, the reason why Shadow has a skating animation instead of hover is not because the mod creator wanted it to be, its because the slot for a dedicated boosting animation doesn't exist. Rush, Rush Adventure, and Unleashed used the same animation for that and full speed running. And since the game is not very accessible, it's hard to add custom animations. A dedicated boosting animations started only in Colors. Also, I can understand your take. But I don't think it's really that notable (you have every right to note it out though, ur channel, freedom of speech and shi). I mean, look at all the other animations in this game, it's literally the best the franchise has seen in any capacity or form. Lastly, I don't really see the point in a hovering animation, since Shadow can't gain any more speed with force, as most of the work is done by the air shoes. All he needs is balance. Hovering makes more sense as putting his feet palms behind him allows the shoes to propel him forward like rocket shoes.

Personally I like the hover. To me, it gives off the same vibe as a rocket taking off like a rocket as if his Air Shoes are being kicked into overdrive by use of Shadow’s Chaos Energy.
