Just bought one of these today. I had an 04 SVT but got rear ended. This is a great temporary car to fill the SVT’s spot. 0-60 feels quite similar but once you get to 65 power is noticeable different. Fun car tho

Is the 1st gear de-tuned in the manual as well? I test drove an auto with the 2.3 and was surprised how much torque is left off the table in 1st gear. It felt like the turbo wasn't doing anything and I was driving a NA 4-cylinder Bronco. In 2nd gear once you get the full beans though, it pulls surprisingly hard.

Great sounding boxer engine but really, Subaru have not kept up with the times. I like the cars but for the price (in the UK at least) they simply aren’t good value anymore. They seem to keep sticking with this NA 2 litre engine and belt driven CVT, although I like the way they work but they need more power, an eCVT that Toyota and Lexus use and far better fuel economy. Why dont they make a much smaller boxer engine with a turbo ? Maybe a three cylinder boxer engine. Would that work ? Better economy and lower down pull with the turbo. Im no engineer but its an idea I guess. Anyway, I actually think Subaru will pull out of the UK eventually. Im really not sure where the brand is heading and they seem reluctant to change their way of thinking.

It's not bad, for a small and economical car it's pretty good

I absolutely hate the '04-'08 5.4L Triton V8 engines, but they do have some damn NICE torque. That's one thing (and probably the only thing) I love about 'em.
