Hi Nicola, isn't RUclips and the internet great?! I managed to fix mine just taking it apart and putting it all back together again. It's still running now two and a half years later. Mega!

its your plastic circulation fan. Its become loose and is catching on the machine and making the noise.either replace it or put a piece of cable tie between the fan and shaft to keep it in place.

@davepamn Yes it does. In fact the robot is simply a carrier for the probe on the T-Mac and the accuracy of each probing point comes from the laser tracker that is watching the T-Mac. When a touch trigger point is taken the tracker gives an instantaneous x,y,z and i,j,k position of the probe tip, just like a CMM. For more info search for "Leica Automated Solutions" in Google. I cant seem to post a link in here.

Does the robot measure tolerance accurate enough to be consider a quality check?
