Great song. Willie Nelson came up with the title before Mearle even wrote the song. Freddie Powers ask Mearle why he hadn't wrote a song about his divorce, Mearle said he didn't want to write a song about it. Freddie said then write her a letter and don't mail it. Freddie told Mearle Willie has got a good title " Looking for a place to fall apart " Then mearle told Freddie it is a good title . Later on came the song. Everything I just said is in Mearle's RUclips show at Austin City Limits with Connie Smith singing a duet with Mearle.
